thanks for the info
From a Sixers board, I don't know how reliable it is, but it's something. I don't know why it would be reported in DC first either...but who knows...I personally think this is a stupid move on all counts. While listening to the John Thompson show today they announced pretty confidently that Spreewell was heading to the Spurs, Van Horn to the Knicks, and Malik Rose to the Sixers.
thanks for the info
Assuming you're serious...no problem. If you're being sarcastic...I realize there's another thread talking about the speculation of this trade, but this seemed more final.![]()
Where did you hear this at? You can type sources here...
A rumor gets more respect when you put the link or source to it.
This trade talk definitely carries weight since it has been reported on tv, newspaper and radio.
Might just happen...
Just the Sixers board at philly.com, which is why I wasn't sure of its reliability
And sorry, you have to register and when I try putting the link it just takes you to the login place...
I heard this trade during the breaks all day on ticket760 am here in san antonio.. They were quoting the Express News as the source of the rumor. Which is really not saying much.
well it is untrue
I thought you heard it on the radio
this is just from the artcile in the local sa paper
nothing more. just a rumor that is WRONG
This stems from Glen Rogers article in the Express News today. It's a rumor.
Ah okay, the guy who posted seemed pretty confident (and pissed) that it was going to happen. My mistake.
Well, it probably is a rehash of the report on the Expressnews, but I just got a call from a friend of mine on his way home from work. He heard this on the 980 AM in DC. He said they talked as if it were a done deal.
Damn, Glenn Rogers got alot of play from his article today![]()

Aha, so I'm not going insane.:wink
It's been making the rounds on ESPN radio, etc.
Doesn't make it true....
I know it doesn't make it true, but at least it means I wasn't making up in my head that someone was making it sound that way. (i.e. radio in DC)
Very true. I won't believe anything until I see it as a done deal. It's been making the rounds on ESPN radio, etc.
Doesn't make it true....
BTW, I didn't hear this for myself, so I don't know all the details about what was really said. Just a rumor. I view all radio programs the way I view Hacksaw in LA.

I've also heard rumors of a similar trade, only involving Michael Finley and Shawn Bradley instead...Bradley to NY, Finley to Philly...KVH to NY...Spree and Thomas to Dallas. I don't know why NY wants Bradley, but they really have coveted him for a long time.
For the record, WTEM was the station that first broke that Kidd and Zo were signing with the Nets. They announced it about 10 p.m. the night before everyone else.
I posted that here, and nobody believed that either.
I haven't been listening to WTEM, so can't confirm, but they've got damn good sources.
This trade has been discussed by these teams.
But Philly doesn't want Rose when they just signed Thomas. Knicks are still shopping Spree, however.
so... any more concrete news/scoops on this people?
So as of right now its still just a rumor.....
What made them say it was almost a done deal?
I mean did they know something we did not?
alspurs sa or newyork would know first it was a done deal.
spree might end up in dallas but not a spur

I was told this trade is dead as far as the Spurs are concerned, unless something has changed drastically in the last couple hours.
I can see your point there Kori....
I think it is a dead one.....usaully thats what happens with a deal thats being delayed this long.
Hopefully its not, but I think Spree is going tp be hard to get him in a Spurs uniform with Layden as the GM of the Knicks....
He loves to try and od deal but never gets them done.
Only if Philly are sure that Thomas could play more extended minutes at SF that they would give this trade more chance to break through.
SA certainly wants the star power of Spree, while NY really wants to slash some salary burden and infuses some young talents on the same time.
Philly holds the key to the trade NOW.![]()
I still don't get why we'd want Spree now - Manu, Jax and Bowen have us covered at the 2/3, and Spree is old and overpaid.
Spree is intriguing, but not at the cost of Malik.
