he has nothing better to do?

U.S. President Barack Obama is about nine inches shorter than the Miami Heat's Chris Bosh, but on Sunday he got to strut his stuff on the court alongside Bosh's Heat teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Obama joined with several of the best in the National Basketball Association for a pickup game played for injured troops at the Fort McNair base in Washington, D.C.
The list of NBA players who also took the court, according to the New York Times, included Chauncey Billups, Derek Fisher, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, David West and Pau Gasol. Also taking part were recently retired Alonzo Mourning and collegiate star Maya Moore of the Connecticut Huskies, the women's team that has won its last 78 games.
Hall of Famers Bill Russell and Magic Johnson were on hand to watch and meet the troops, as was NBA Finals MVP Kobe Bryant, who just underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and is also mending a finger injury.
The reporters assigned to keep tabs on the president were shut out of the gym, forced to wait in vans outside. Asked why media coverage was blocked, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Obama "just wanted to play."
Obama, who turned 49 earlier this week, on the 2008 campaign trail kept up a supers ion of playing a pickup game the day of each primary. He has attended games in recent months featuring Duke, his hometown Chicago Bulls, and on Aug. 1 took youngest daughter Sasha to see the WNBA's Washington Mystics.
Obama's brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, is head men's basketball coach at Oregon State.
Robinson's sister, first lady Mic e Obama, is vacationing with Sasha in Spain, while the Obamas' older daughter, Malia, is away at summer camp.

this so called president is a piece of
these players have nothing better to do?
it would have been funny if they got hurt
sons lets see ... last week he was on the View talking about Jersey Shore, then he and Mic e "King Kong's baby sister" Obama rented out damn near an entire luxury hotel for their vacation, and now he's playing basketball with NBA players. must be nice to be such a celebrity ... oops I mean president of the United States.
sons the world is ed obama just doing what anybody would do
have fun before its all over
but son whenever Bush would come down to Texas for a week or two the media would make movies about it. why are they turning the other cheek for Lord Barack?
If you don't like it, then get your fatass up and do somethin about it.....Louisiana education right there
When you don't up the economy, start bull wars, ignore education reform, then you can do what you please, as long as gets fixed
Dont up the economy?
Uh, whats Barack done to help it?
You liking thee WNBA is the epitome of ignorance
LMAO at all the ppl in.
what did you'all mofos do this past weekend?
at least magic negro was not out there shooting people in the face or choking on mini pretzels
So Obama invited most of the nba trash to play with.... no surprise there.
Would have been a much better choice to have invited players such as D-Rob. A honest ultimate humanitarian that served in the US navy
Eh, seems like a cool thing to do for injured troops.
Did anybody read enough of the article to see this:
There are plenty of legit things to criticize him for, but playing a pickup game to support the troops (and shutting the press out so that the focus stayed where it should - on the troops instead of him) is hardly something I can get pissed about.Obama joined with several of the best in the National Basketball Association for a pickup game played for injured troops at the Fort McNair base in Washington, D.C.
If you want a serious answer I think there are a couple things to look at: this wasn't a vacation - it was something done to support the troops. The OP failed to include that in the tread le, so intentional or not it was a little misleading. Also, it might be worthwhile to compare the amount of vacation time Bush and Obama took.
Sons I dislike Bush just as next person,I mean he got us involved in a war we never should of gotten involved in. But can't blame him for economy, you can point that problem to the banks and all the rich guys in suits who were cheating the system and knew one day it would come back to haunt us
basketball? might aswell go on a shopping spree in spain...oh wait.
