I would like to have Pippen, but unlike Steve Smith, I don't think he'd be happy mentoring Manu and Jack on the sidelines. Although I do think he wants 1 more shot at getting back at the Lakers for beating his Blazers in 2000. I still think that series really stings at Pip and thats why I think he's looking at San Antonio.

To be the backup point and then see a few minutes at the 2 and 3 as needed Pippen would be a great fit. With him on the court you would have all 3 of your perimeter players being tall (6'7"+) and you would have a great defensive unit, especially with him, Bowen, and Ginobili on the court. Depending on how things shake out giving Pippen an inflated one year deal might not be a bad idea. Then he comes off the books and the Spurs would be able to use the room on Manu.

Don't be fooled. Pippen will go to the team that pays him the most money. The only reason he's considering the Spurs is because he knows they've got 12 million available.

Is Pip worth 5.5-6mil??? Cause that's what it'll take to get him.

Pippen would be a terrific addition to the Spurs. Believe me, he has a great deal left in the tank. I don't think you can play him more than 25 mins per game, but the dude can still play. He's got more game than any of the Spurs current swingmen with the possible exception of Ginobilli. He's a beautiful player to watch on defense. If the Spurs manage to pick him up, I would put them right up there with the Lake Show as early favorites for the 04 le.

ducks, I remember reading that his recent interest in Chicago was based purley on him not wanting to play the point and wanting astarting frontcourt position.

    I don't b1tch. I tell it like it is.

I thought he liked the bulls because after he retired he might get a job upstairs or be a part owner. not to do with starting.

I would pay pippen 6 million if that is what it took to get him for a one year deal. that steal leaves 6 million to get other players.

Well, we have to pay someone. I wouldn't mind paying Pippen $4-5M for a year.

leverage for what? Chicago's already offering him the full MCE, the most they can offer.
