Since Melo is available, I am seriously considering a Melo for Parker trade. Do you think Denver will bite?

If Parker doesn't want to be in San Antonio, why would he want to be in Denver? Someone will give him max money and it'll probably be the Knicks, where he reportedly wants to play.

Now, take the above statement and replace "Parker" with "Carmelo" and swap Denver and San Antonio around.

Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler and Gallinari to Denver, Melo to Spurs, Parker and McDyess to Knicks.

I think Denver may bite cause its a pretty good offer. Salary cap relief plus 2 good young players. Parker with Amare would sound good and McDyess cant be worse than Curry at center.

I personally like it though I would rather wait till RJ can be traded.

There is no reason for Denver to make that trade as TP would not stay. They'd want young talent in return.

Denver already has a terrific PG in Billups, and the fact that Denver has tested trade waters with Carmello doesn't say much for their opinion of their "franchise player." On the other end, Carmello isn't more of a defender than Jefferson and needs the ball constantly to inefficiently put up the numbers he does. Finally, Hill is not more of a PG than Parker.

Look, theres other teams in the league. You can not possibly believe that's the best offer Denver would receive for Melo.

Set aside for a moment what Denver wants to get for Melo (young players, first round picks, and salary cap relief) and where Melo and his wife want to go (NY or LA) and let's assume that Curry, Chandler, and Gallo is the best offer that Denver gets.

All the assets that wind up in Denver are coming from NY. San Antonio isn't needed to make the trade happen unless NY would rather have Parker than Melo. Having traded their top two SFs, it makes no sense for NY to prefer Parker over Melo.

    Why isn't Jefferson being considered?
Surely Denver, as well as many other teams must be interested.

If you wanted to get Melo (which i donīt) you would have to offer Ginobili and Jefferson for Melo and JR Smith.
And thatīs pretty much making Denver a near contender if Jefferson, Ginobili and Billups combine for a good season.

Why move Parker? You could easily get better value with a Jefferson/Bonner package as long as you play your cards right.

It's a good thing you decided to run this by us.

P.S. while you're pulling all these strings and all, I'd like some season tix, kthxbye.

    double fail

Nuggets have allready Ty Lawson, thats why they dont want a PG back.

Lawson and Nene are the core, so they are looking for SG/SF/PF, preferably a PF since its harder to find quality ones.

And after they shipped out the Anthony/Birdman package they will look for another trade to ship out Billups for expiring+ pick/talent. Billups in Denver without Anthony is useless.

If you want Melo it would have to be either Parker and Splitter or George Hill and Splitter. I don't see why Denver would not ask for a big man. McDyess is too old to interest Denver.

Considering that the poster you quoted said that the Nuggets wouldn't be interested in Parker for Melo AND I said as much in an earlier post in this thread, you would be well served by following your own crude advice. Perhaps there's a good Mavs thread somewhere for you.

Several league sources on Monday told ESPN.com that they believe the Nets have emerged as the front-runner to secure Anthony. Not only is Anthony willing to sign a contract extension with the Nets, sources say the club is willing to make an intriguing offer of Derrick Favors (the No. 3 pick in this year's draft), the expiring contracts of Troy Murphy and Kris Humphries and at least one future first-round pick to Denver to land Anthony.

A source close to the Nets told ESPN.com that he wasn't ready to concede that the Nets were the front-runners for Anthony's services, nor were they willing to confirm what the Nets would offer. However, the source did acknowledge that New Jersey was in serious consideration based on the Nuggets' reluctance to trade Anthony to a Western Conference team and the Nets' combination of expiring contracts, draft picks and a young player with serious upside.

A number of others teams including the Knicks, Bulls, Rockets, Clippers and Warriors have been pursuing Anthony as well. However, sources on several of those teams were pessimistic that they could match what the Nets have to offer.

"They've got what the Nuggets want," one general manager told ESPN.com. "We're trying to put a package together that matches what the Nets can offer, but it's tough."
