I didn't hate Kobe in those years, until around 1999, even though he was getting unearned hype before that..

- Fake personality..
- Reportedly demanded to play for the Lakers before the draft, already showing signs of being a primadonna..
- The copying of Jordan, including creepily mimicking his mannerisms..
- The ridiculous arrogance from a spoiled kid from the suburbs..
- His fans/media..Al-Quobe has been comparing him to Jordan and using extreme ways to hype him up since 1998-1999, maybe even before that, back when he was being compared to Vince Carter..

My hatred for Kobe has always been there, although obviously not to the extent you see today..the alleged rape, the snitching, the 2004 Finals, the trade demands, ting on the organization, ting on Bynum through the media, quitting on his team and the many more incidents made my hatred into what it is today..

Actually hating a player because he plays well against your team is just silly..it's pretty sad that you can't see why people hate Kobe..

those teams didn't stand a chance against LA. Duncan was pretty much by himself. they wouldn't have beat the '99 team though. 2 years later the team around TD wasn't good enough and Robinson was good but nowhere near great anymore.

the arrival of Manu changed everything for the Spurs, and for the Lakers for that matter. it's just too bad Duncan never really had anyone between 00-02 that could be considered great.

that's the price you pay being a fan of a small market team that (until recently) couldn't land anyone. however, it's also what made our '99 and '03 x10 better, knowing that we're one of the smallest markets and we beat a historic franchise--twice.

The Spurs are usually ranked 3rd or 4th, and despite the fact that its a wide margin between 2 and 3 I still feel proud that my favorite team has had so much success, even if the championships only come in a 9 year period.

I'm not going to convince myself the Spurs history trumps LA's, but you can't convince me to not happy about my own team. And if my team was dominant in the league over the best franchise in the league historically for half a decade or more then I'm going to be proud.

I'm sorry that the Duncan era hasn't been a rollercoaster of kobe whining about shaq during the three-peat, kobe whining about shaq after the pistons, kobe whining about his teammates during the ensuing 5 years, and then putting shaq down when he finally had more rings.
