Cheating on your wife isn't a crime, it's not like he raped or Neal'd a woman..

While it sucks for Brent Barry, at least it allows him to realize that his wife is fishy..it's not Parker's responsibility to take care of Barry's business..

It's not like Peter Holt hasn't made his share of mistakes in the past..

I can't believe people are "shook up" about this. It happens, life goes on.
Talking about something is natural. It does not mean your shook up.

I'm with slomo, really the only tiny concern is that it was disrespect to a guy like Barry.

Could you imagine if Tony cheated with Duncan's wife, for example? Of course it's an extreme, but not too different. Low blow.

This board is more active than the 2007 Finals right now. Where were you when Kennedy was shot? 9/11? Berry-Gate?
    Is it too your surprise?

The Spurs players never get into this kind of media attention. It's simply and irrefutably rare. Nobody could predict something like this, no people are giving it attention.

The Spurs FO graciously thanks Erin Barry that Parker signed the extension and also at a smaller price.

Unlike golf, you can actually play better frustrated in basketball. If Tony drops 40 tonight then I think he should get remarried and then divorce again around June.
Also unlike golf, basketball is a team sport. Your individual effort might improve with anger or frustration, but Parker's (alleged) actions reveal him to be an untrustworthy, selfish jerk. That *can* hurt team chemistry, promote distrust, etc ... or it could make them all fall in line and gut out emotional victories to show support for one of their leaders.

I don't know. Brent Barry seems to be a well-liked guy. And I couldn't blame anyone on the current roster wondering if Parker is going after his wife.

You're right - the Spurs players are hardly ever in the news; and I think this is what will upset the FO. This isn't LA - and the Spurs like being under the radar, both personally and professionally. The other players teased Tony about being "Mr. Hollywood" - but I don't think they're going to like all this extra attention.

If you trust your wife and believe she isn't a loosie, then you shouldn't be worried about Tony Parker going after your wife..

You may be right . . . and I agree, but maybe he's not. His dad and his brother are both assholes . . . it's not out of the realm of possibility. Brent is funny though.

Sorry bro, but you've put too much thought into this one. Who cares about the effects of Tony cheating with Brent's wife.

Hey don't try to share your ownage with me. If Manny tries to pull a whottt on me I'll take it like a man and leave it at that.

I never said anything about respect. The point I'm trying to put across - unsuccessfully apparently - is that is creates a strange environment (doubts, contempt, mocking and many other bad sentiments) and that's not what I wish in my favorite team's locker room.

Yeah, they should probably thank Erin Barry for giving Parker a reason to stay in Texas. If his marriage were solid, he'd probably be positioning himself to be a Knick next year.

Well, quite frankly this is exactly my concern with the subject. It's a small concern considering my entire life, however the Spurs are my favorite team by far in any sport and therefore it's something I don't wish upon in the locker room, especially this season. If we were in Sixers mode, that is, going back and forth every year from making the playoffs as an 8th seed and not making them, I would care far, far less.

And yeah I feel kinda bad for Barry, he seems like a cool and appreciated guy among his ex-teammates, Tony the exception.

If he did indeed cheat on Eva, I don't think this will change Parker's future with the Spurs.

He actually does some analyst crap with NBA.com ...he appears in a lot of their videos actually. It's a minor role, but that's all that I'm aware of. And every time he talks, especially about the Spurs, he seems cool as . Damn Tony, , WTF is wrong with you?? You can get basically any model you want, you gotta go for Brent's wife?

Tony Parker briefly speaks out on his divorce
    by Tim Griffin

Tony Parker answered three questions during a brief 50-second meeting with members of the media before Wednesday’s game. Here’s what he had to say:

His general statement on his divorce: “It’s a difficult time for me and Eva. We have a joint statement and everything else is our private life.”

On allegations that he was involved with the wife of a former teammate: “That’s my private life.”

On whether it will affect his play on the court and his teammates: “I’m having great support from my teammates and my coaches. I’m focused 100 percent on the Spurs and trying to win basketball games.”
