Donkey Kong and Mario are the best.
Is this you?
tbh, I've started playing Diddy Kong Racing and it's up there with Mario Kart, imho
Playing multiplayer is better because they don't have the bull lightning/star type of items where the worst player always has a shot to win.
Diddy Kong Racing kicks ass... But that boss is a pain.
That's kinda why I've always felt Mario Kart is overrated. Those god damn sling shots. Don't forget to mention that the further back you are, the faster you move.
Didn't even realize that
When I used to live in the dorm, we'd always play, and this one guy was so bad that he would be last all race but he'd get like 7 lightnings and it up for the rest of us![]()
diddy kong racing was the , the single player lighthouse turned into a spaceship.
Don't forget that it also had more replay value. Once you beat all the levels and collected the Nintendo things, all the levels were then backwards, and you still had to collect the Nintendo things.
All the classic were already mentioned but there's still a few games that were left out:
Mario Tennis
Wave Race 64
WWF No Mercy - best of the THQ wrestling games
Turok 2(for the multiplayer)
San Francisco Rush 2049
NFL Blitz
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
The only good RPGs released on the N64:
Ogre Battle 64
Paper Mario
The Star Wars games were fun back then but I doubt they aged well. Played Shadows a few months ago and it wasn't nearly as fun as I remembered:
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Episode I: Racer
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
I remember when I got that Tony Hawk demo from Pizza Hut and played the out of it. I used to love whatever song was on that demo as well.
Damn, can't believe I left out Star Wars: SotE.![]()
Oh, and Majora's Mask is still the best 3D Zelda game ever made(yes, better than OoT/Windwaker/Twilight Princess). Had the most replay value imo
the bads, tbh. Diddy Kong was decent, but it couldn't touch Mario Kart imho.
true that. That was my first game for the 64 and I thought the whole Hoth battle was in ingcredible. Also spent a good hour trying to get the star destroyer at the end down to 99%....never happened.![]()
It was cool if you liked being 8th at the start of lap 2 and finish 1st.
One of the most relaxing games I ever played. Until I actually tried to go for all gold medals.
Tony Hawk had some awesome jams in the day... Del tha Funkee sapien, Anthrax and Public Noise teamed up, etc etc
Oh snap. Good call.
I wish they would remake SotE. The first time I played the Battle of Skyhook at the end, it was epic. I couldn't believe the sheer awesome of that free roaming combat, blasting at Ties and occasionally the Millennium Falcon, flying down the corridors of the starbase.
THA'S RIGHT.
Oh, I forgot to mention Beetle Adventure Racing. Not joking.

The tone was so dark and there was so much to do. It was just on the verge of sandbox.
WWF WrestleMania 2000 and WWF No Mercy are easily the best wrestling and some of the best overall N64 games out there.
That football game that had Favre as the cover...I forget the name but I played that game to death. Thats when I was on the ans bandwagon, Air McNair and Eddie George were the . Also no love for Army Men:Sarge's Heroes?Very few people were into that game but it was right up there with Golden eye for me:
Then the second one, where you went into the real world and t

NFL Quarterback '98?..that game was my first N64 game and made me get into the NFL..
