I think the biggest ethical problem with what they were doing is the risk of conception.

Yes, what's wrong about two adults having consensual sex?
Usually two people that are related and grow up toghether aren't atracted to each other for some "psychological/physical/I don't really know" reason, but in the rare cases that they are atracted to each other I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to be toghether, the only reason incest is illegal is because once somebody somewhere decided it to be, but I don't see any logical reason to prohibit consensual sex between two grown human beigns.
I would guess that this might be the case if they were siblings or cousins, but the belief that the parent has power over the child may motivate only the parent being charged. They see the child as a victim, even though she was 21 when it apparently started.
prosecutors will withdraw the trial and the professor will be just fine, no conviction despite the sinful things this MUTHA ER did. its columbia uni and that says a lot, judges/jury will give him a clemency for that reason.

I don't think it necessarily should be illegal if it occurs between consenting adults. There are a lot of things that I think are sick or morally repugnant, but that doesn't make them illegal.

I think incest should only be illegal if it involves an adult and a child, in this case it just seems like the law is getting in between someones personal life and their decisions.

I find it VERY hard to believe that the first time there was any inappropriate contact between these two wasn't until AFTER she turned 18. If this guy had no problem ing his own daughter, I'd be surprised if there wasn't other similarly ed up stuff he was okay with.

That is certainly possible, but I assume that if there were any evidence of such activities, he'd already have been charged. Pretty much everyone agrees that statutory rape and incest are wrong and should be illegal.
