Yeah, but it has nothing to with Duncan's play. He's playing like a piece of right now, and has been for years.
    Not really.

Tim is like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1985. On Cruise-Control until money time. He'll be there.

Question? How is is possible to have both Manu's stats and Tony's stats to go up exponentially and yet keep Tim's status quo? The Spurs have run and they've played half-court and even when Paul Westhead was running with Orlando Woolridge and Micheal Adams, even that offense could only produce 4 players with close to 20 PPG. So how is it possible for Tim if the pace isn't THAT FAST?
It ain't and the Spurs and their fans are cool with it because the results support that the team is better because of it.
It's like that stat that says when the Bean shoots over 30 shots, the LAL and their bandwagon suffers because of the losses it causes.

son that is an absolutely horrible comparison. Kareem was 38 years old in 1985! aka over 4 years older than Duncan is right now and even then he was still putting up about 10 points more per game than Duncan.

for a fair and legit comparison, whenever they were both 34 years old ...

    Duncan 13 and 9

    Kareem 24 and 8

Lol, Don't ever disrespect the game or Kareem like that again Dip .

That's one of the stupidest things I've read on Spurstalk.

First of all Kareem was 37 going on 38 years old. That's 3 years younger than Tim.

Second, Kareem was still the elite post scorer in the game scoring 20+ per usual while shooting a blistering 60%. He was still the focal point of the offense in the half court set. He finished 4th in the MVP voting for the regular season just behind Larry, Magic and Moses....

Tim Duncan sucking morons should not draw comparisons of this nature as they prove continually to be among the most ignorant the world has ever seen.

Spurs run a 106 ppg pace

Lakers ran a 118 ppg pace.

Duncan is playing 29 minutes so he's rested for playoffs.

Kareem led his team in minutes played that year and averaged 33+ per game.

Soooo he was getting more possessions in more minutes against weaker compe ion, and you wonder why he was scoring more than Duncan?

By the way, your stats are wrong. Kareem averaged 22 and 8, not 24.

Tim haters are a bunch of clowns. His minutes and touches are both down on purpose: we're playing for a le, and he can't carry us on his back all season and still be fresh for the POs. @ you dumbasses.

Haters gotta hate on something because when you're 23-3 there ain't you can say about the team. Might as well belittle the pieces instead of whole. The more they hate, the more they fear the spur.

Then he is not pulling a 1985 Kareem, who carried a big load of the Lakers offense during the regular season and destroyed teams in the playoffs even at 38 years of age.

Tim and Kareem have nothing in common.

It disgusts me that anyone here would even suggest it.

You used the word again and you used STATS. I'll say it again...STATS. Didn't you once tell me that stats are worthless? ownage

One little typo and you es go in a tizzy. Let's use 1987.
Captain Skyhook went 14.6 PPG & 6 RPG. His defense went into the toilet for the regular season. He only got 92 blocks that season.
Duncan has 55 in 26 games played, he got 7 alone in the Milwaukee game. He's rebounding at 9.5 per so far so...TRY AGAIN.

Anytime you want to talk hoops, stats, or anything Spurs related...bring it. All you're really good at is histrionics...Historectumee.

Spurfan has a hard time dealing with reality. Tim Duncan is a role player now, no shame in that after the career he's had.

    Manu Ginobili: 19.8ppg
    Tony Parker: 17.9 ppg
    Richard Jefferson: 14.0 ppg
    Tim Duncan: 13.9 ppg

They're almost 1/3 of the way through the season and Duncan is clearly the 4th option.

    These are facts.

Trying to deny this only perpetuates your butthurt gotry even more. Who would have thought that Spurfan would be more trollable than Lakerfan? Spurfan earns the butthurt champions of the year le with this thread alone, imho, tbh, fwiw, ibtl.
    Solid post. Post more often.

BR with the goods - per usual. I am a fan of Timmy. I've gone on record to say he is my favorite non-Laker of all time. I would have even traded Shaq for him if I were MK*. However, Cap even at 38 was better than 2010 TD. Cap played in the rough and rugged 1980's at 38 and still was beasting. He was very durable too. Bottom line, I get what Man In Black is trying to say with the comparison, but he is missing the mark, tbh.

*Before I get flamed for that comment, if you think Kobe/Pau are beasting right now, imagine having a 21 year old Kobe + 23 year old Timmy for at least 10 years - and you'll catch my drift). If TD could be the anchor for a decade long 50+ win teams without Kobe, imagine him with him. But that's another thread all by itself.
