Not every guy playing is better than the guy behind him. That wasn't the point though.

Did you not read my post? I said all teams have games like this. I also said that no other contender over the last 3 years has had even close to the amount of these games as the Spurs.

This is where I am coming from. I might be wrong, but Spurs can be really bad in games.

I agree completely with these takes. If people are comparing this Spurs team to the 2003 Spurs team like I've seen a few times, well I don't ever remember them getting dominated. Even when we had a bad game that season we still kept going and playing hard.

So just to clarify your stance, that means the Lakers, Mavs, Celtics, Magic and Heat are not true contenders for the championship either.

There is no reason to bug out on this game. it has little or no effect in the big picture. Last year we had about 10 games like this through the course of the year.

I'd love to see you quantify the last thing you said. I doubt you've watched every game and every blowout of every contender. If you want to qualify the Spurs as contenders or pretenders based on a January blowout then you're absolutely free too but I'm sure most people would agree its a pretty stupid thing to do.

The Spurs have played worse than this in the playoffs and even in the finals. Take a look at Game 3 and Game 4 of the 2005 finals. The Spurs were horribly dominated. They lost Game 4 by 31 ing points!

Bonner is better than Tiago in so many ways its not even close. You can say my logic is like saying Bogans is better because he played but thats just stupid considering it was obvious Bogans never did right (kinda like Splitter). Bonner on the other hand consistently has helped this team this year and has earned much more playing time than Tiago. Tiago is going to have minutes tonight to show he can be good. I don't expect anything special from him.

Where did I say that ? I pointed out that the Spurs downside (didn't say anything about them being a contender or pretender although they are clearly a contender) is much more than other contenders. This is evidenced by the Skunker and the health issues and the amount of flat out blowouts over the past couple years.

Also at the earning minutes shtick. Plenty of people can play like ass and they keep getting minutes.

Tiago is going to get heavy minutes where the team was already down 25+ points and everyone is playing like ass and it's his time to show when he is good. Ok. That's fair. Especially when Bonner, the ultimate front runner (plays well in meaningless games and when things go well) gets to play with the best players on the team.

I don't know if Tiago can play, but don't act like you do either and don't compare Bonner's opportunities to his.

If I had to pick between NY and NO, I would want to beat NY. We did, at home. NO needs a few big wins to keep their team in their city. It could work out good for both teams.

lol i honestly think tonight was where the spurs just missed shots and trickled down to the rest of the game.

hornets played great D but not one spurs made any concerted effort to attack the basket.

happens, the hornets' ceiling is the 2nd round. we got bigger things to worry about then a b2b loss against a non-contender.

Spurs Big 3 play the least amount of minutes of all big 3's in the NBA pretty much.

It's funny, they showed a possession (Spurs on offense, Hornets on defense) where Parker dribbled the ball into the center and met virtually a triple team. George Hill was wide open in the corner. Had Parker passed to Hill, it would've been an open 3. Instead, Parker chose to dribble the ball out and reset.

The Hornets announcers attributed that to great defense but in reality it was just terrible execution by the Spurs. I'm not bashing Parker here, by the way. I think our entire team top to bottom had terrible games. That said, Parker usually doesn't make those kinds of mistakes. The team wasn't mentally sharp tonight. A lot of passing around the horn. Not much penetration.

Good loss to have though. Spurs need a kick in the ass every once in a while to get back into gear.
