15 point lead vs the Lakers and they played as if they had no clue, no direction on offense. Lackers simply took an old Phil stategy of trying to guard everyone closely but Rondo, backing off him and letting him shoot and clank jumpers.

    15 pt lead pissed away.

Pierce played liked Kobme, throwing up clanker after clanker and not trying to distribute at all. Kobe played some good team ball and to go along with his usual b.s. calls. Even then, seeing him get rung up for back to back offensive calls is miraculous............ But Doc doesnt take advantage.

Eh, the whole team sucked after the half. Coaching, execution, you name it.

    I agree

They just came out flat in the 2nd half

It was like the 1st meeting in L.A; the Lakers were flat and the Celtics were sharper

It was just the other way around in the Garden; I don't think it's only the coach's fault.

    I agree

Regarding Phil Jackson, I think that he is more of a psyvhologist than an x's and o's coach; what do you think?

What can Doc do about Rondo and Big Baby throwing brick after brick? Two weeks ago in LA they were going in. Last night they were shooting 22% at some point in the second half.
There are nights like that, and Doc doesn't have much of anything to do with it.

With Rondo, like Popa with Mike Finleys bricking, tell him it's an off shooting night for you so start driving everything to the rack and/or pass off. Good things usually happen when guards attack the rim. At least much better then continual bricklaying.

Rondo doesn't normally likes to shoot, but basically good teams rarely guard him on the perimeter. You can just use whoever should guard him to crowd the other celtics. Boston is a good team and they won't take bad shots, but when you gotta pick your poison, you rather have Rondo beat you from outside than Ray, Pierce or KG.

We did the same thing when we played them, but Rondo couldn't miss that game. Ultimately, Boston is a favorable matchup for the Lakeshow. They are a very slow, grind it out team, and this season's Lakers have struggled with teams that run at them (Cue Lakeshow fan mentioning how you can't win in the playoffs if you're not a grind it out team).

Boston was laying off Rondo, daring him to shoot. Hard to penatrate when the Lakers are packing the paint.

I thought that the Celtics were so focused on getting Ray Ray his record that they lost all drive afterward. They acted like they just won the le.

Plus there are plenty of injuries. Let Bynum be out and the Lakers are a ing lottery team.

When you have to sub a UT freshman for ing Von Wafer who subbed for Ray, you aren't gaining any ground. Nate stinking it up with stupid plays, now he's hurt. The Celtics are experiencing the Karma KG has wrought upon the entire squad.

Also, BB Davis is a chucker and he cannot hit most of the time. He gets a good game and thinks he's on, gives the stupid little hand gestures. He reminds me of some posters here who call every thread a classic.

The NBA assists leader and Doc can't combine to form any other strategy when the Lackers pack the paint? That's what i mean about can he coach at an elite level or not. Was the Celts 2008 le a one and done deal where Docs main duty was to roll out the practice balls?

The head coach gets too much credit and too much blame for a team's fortunes. There are a lot of other factors in the organization that do not include the head coach. Sometimes we see moves and feel they were bad ones in retrospect, but a lot of that has to do with what the coach has to work with. I think Doc is an ok coach. He's no top tier coach. He has a scratchy voice and stuff, that's good.
