Spurs
My money's on Dallas...I think he has the opportunity to get the most minutes with the Mavs.
I have the feeling he will go to Dallas
Mavs don't need any more 1 diminsional players
I'll take a one dimensional player if that dimension is defense.
I'd rather have Brewer than Sasha Pavlovic.
Brewer is a guy that can look really bad when he's allowed to do stupid crap on a ty team. But I also seen enough potential in him that, on a good team with a good coach, he could be a guy counted on to play terrific defense, consistently hit open open three pointers, and be a glue guy for the team.
Basically, he could be Bruce Bowen with actual talent and no dirty cheapshots.
so in other words, there's no way the Mavs are gonna go after him
We do have several 1 dimensional players but anytime you have a choice, you should go with the defensive one. Defense wins championships. That is proven by all past winners. Brewer is so young and can develop into a two-way player. Players like Peja, and others are not going to change. If I was Cuban, I would jump on this.
I think it's down between the Mavs and Spurs now. Good luck, ladies!
Plus there's absolutely no role on this team for Pavlovic when we already have Peja.
this is a perfect time for the Donnie Nelson troll imho
he also adds youth to the team. it would be really nice toward building for the future, as they would have him, Roddy, Dojo, and Mahinmi, all who bring different dimensions.
Roddy - Scoring
Dojo - Penetration and passing
Brewer - Defense and hustle
Mahinmi - Size and post presence
Wow....that's a ty future. Other than Roddy you just described a bunch of role players at best
Roddy - Solid starting PG/SG
Dojo - broke ass jumper and can't finish at the rim in the NBA
Brewer - long/Athletic defender w/ 0 offensive game
Mahinmi - solid backup 4/5 but not a starter
Not saying its a superstar squad. Just some solid pieces to have down the road to build upon. Would need to add a superstar to the mix, but they all provide solid elements.
I'd say give Dojo time first. The dude still showed an ability to get to the rim pretty much at will, which is saying something about his skill level considering hes definitely not a blazer like Roddy. He may, or may not turn out to be any good, but he already showed a natural feel for the game that was light years ahead of a guy like Mo Ager.
BTW - here is a sribb43 analysis of the Mavs
PG - Kidd (no jumper no speed cant stick quick PGs so he ing sucks)
SG - Roddy (cant do anything right, complete bust and deserves no minute because he turns the ball over so he ing sucks)
SF - Peja (![]()
![]()
dude cant do anything but shoot and hes not even good at that so he ing sucks)
PF - Dirk (no defense, no rebounding, he ing sucks)
C - Chandler (he cant shoot 3s so he ing sucks)
Bench
Marion (cant shoot and is old. he ing sucks)
Terry (he takes bad shots and shows up at bad times so he ing sucks)
Barea (he is short and so he ing sucks)
Haywood (he is slow and cant shoot FTs so he ing sucks)
Stevenson (he ing sucks)
Mavs record: 0-82 for the next 24 seasons because they ing suck
Damn you guys are acting like Brewer is a good player. This guy is a mental midget that makes a bunch of mistakes. He would probably get no minutes in a 8-9 man playoff rotation.
Brewer can definitely provide some very good defense, hustle, and energy. In a controlled environment/team, I think he could be a great glue guy. Minnesota and NY won't provide those kinds of environments, while Boston, Dallas, or SA would. Carlisle, Pop, and Rivers would all have his respect and wouldnt allow him to play silly like he would at times in Minny.
This.
I don't care where Brewer goes, but it's definitely time for some fake-Nelson comedy, tbh
Here's stretch's analysis of the mavs:
PG - Kidd (great shooter and is wise beyond his years. Great in team defender)
SG - Roddy (Chose not to trade him for Lebron because he's future GOAT. Great in team defender)
SF - Peja (dead-eye marksman from range who just needs more time. Great in team defender)
PF - Dirk (Underrated post game he never uses. Great in team defender)
C - Chandler (DPOY candidate. GOAT in team defender)
Bench
Marion (Great clutch performer. I want him taking shots down the stretch. Great in team defender)
Terry (Defends anyone his size or smaller really well. Deadly shooter. Great in team defender)
Barea (Defends really well for his size, beast off the dribble. Great in team defender)
Haywood (when DPOY Tyson of off the court, he anchors the great in team defense)
Stevenson (dead eye shooter. Great in individual & team defender)
Mavs record: 98-0 because we have great in team defense () better than the Celtics' and the awesome jump shooting offense.
Brewer is an option for an contender, nothing more.
The Mavs have Marion and Peja. Marion has to play also some backup PF. Stevenson shouldnt play SF because he is way too short. Cardinal shouldnt play at all. So it makes sense to get Brewer as insurance if Marion or Peja get injured or in foul trouble.
