This whole Brewer situation reminds me of that D-Wade: Get me outta here! commercial.
That were all fake for the most part. Only credible ones were that it's down to Dallas/SA/Boston + a San Antonio outlet is getting some scoop at 9:45 with his agent. (Eastern?)
So after weeding out all the fake tweets, we can say with absolute certainty that Corey Brewer will either sign with the Spurs or someone else.
I hate twitter.
Can someone explain this waivers crap to me? Basically if Brewer comes out and says Spurs, Cuban can be like aha screw you $5 million for the rest of the season only/Cavs get him as payback for 2007?
If they have a trade exception, I guess -- but it wouldn't be that amount.
After thinking about it overnight, I'd really like to see us snag this guy too - offensive liability, but he could be the second incarnation of Bruce Bowen. If we do sign Brewer I hope Bowen is brought in as a specialist coach to tutor and hone the young man's skills.
However, surely there's almost no possibility that he gets through waivers to us? Every other team has a shot at him, and 6 have said they want him. At the very least Cuban will grab him to screw us. It's a pipedream, so I'm not getting my hopes up. If CIA Pop somehow pulls it off, he will have earned his moniker yet again.![]()

Didn't Bonner go to Florida? Pick up the phone Matt!
the second incarnation of Bowen ??god I know we are all exited because with all these wins we have no more trade tp, fire pop... threads to be entertained but let be realistic, signing Brewer will be nice but he is not the lacking piece of a 5th

Update @ 7:56 pm ET
Brewer is torn
No, he could be. He could potentially give us that perimeter defensive presence we've lacked. Again, we also need an interior one too since Duncan has slipped just enough.
Are the Miami three in lefty's sig in the men's room?
If you're not being sarcastic no it was from the intro special they did they day after the Decision. They're rising out of the floor.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Corey Brewer is still weighing his options for the future after being waived by the New York Knicks today. Stein tweeted earlier this afternoon:
“Brewer in process of weighing it all after Monday night recruiting calls from Popovich, Doc R and Cuban. Lakers, to date, have NOT called”
However, CSN’s A. Sherrod Blakely more recently tweeted that despite the C’s strong interest, Dallas may be Brewer’s most likely landing spot.
“Right now the Celtics are focused on Corey Brewer. There’s a strong belief that he’s the final piece to this championship puzzle.”
“Compe ion is very tight for Brewer. I think the Mavs are going to be the team to beat for his services.”
The Knicks also waived Keleena Azubuike, who was limited to 9 games this season due to injury. If healthy, Azubuike could be an interesting addition for the Celtics. He expects to return soon from major knee surgery and it was reported that he was surprised by this decision. Ultimately though, I don’t think this is a guy the Celtics take a chance on.
I'll try to do better.
Or will I?
Nah, I didn't really mean that the way it came out. What I meant was a very nice defensive player who is offensively challenged. However, Brewer does have the athleticism and length to be an elite defender, maybe not as elite as Bruce (who should make it to the HoF IMHO) though.
Is it time to switch to my Bruce Bowen avatar?![]()
:::Breaking News:::
From Edgar H.Q (A.k.a "Anti-SEQU Promoter")
"...Corey Brewer To Accept Spurs Offer"
So the Celtics also want Azubuike. What a surpise!
