Why do Mav fans get so butt hurt over Roddy? Gary Neal has clearly been better than Roddy, yet they act like Neal sucks.

Roddy isn't playing well. End of story. Rick doesn't hate Roddy, it's just that he isn't earning minutes because he isn't playing well with his ample opportunity. Same reason Brewer got a chance, played like , now hasn't seen the floor.

Mavs aren't the Wolves. They can't just give minutes to guys not producing.
Thing with Roddy, and I've been saying it for a while, is that his playing style is not a good fit right now with the starting lineup, unless Kidd were to come out. Roddy needs the ball in his hands to be most effective, and is still learning to play without the ball. His skills would be utilized a lot better if he were to come off the bench, backing Kidd up, where he could just go out looking to score and create, which is what he's best at.

Terry at this point may be a better fit in the starting unit.

I agree with that. Right now, Roddy is struggling against starting quality opponents. You can see it. He doesn't get to the rim as easy and he has to bust his ass defensively against NBA starters. When he's off the ball, he at times does what Hill does which is look to make a meaningless pass.

That doesn't mean he doesn't do good things, and RC could have given Roddy some more time on a few occasions where he was hot, but overall, his impact has been low. ESP compared to last years spurts.

The injury has definitely messed up his development this year, along with him trying to learn to play PG. He definitely has the skillsets and vision to play PG, he just needs the experience so he can eliminate the mistakes. That development likely wont be able to come until next year, thanks to his foot.

The good thing about him being in the starting lineup is that he definitely plays some damn good defense against the waterbug PGs, and opponents still have to respect his shooting and penetrating ability. Hopefully he can at least get his shot to fall consistently like it was last year.
