So the Spurs have had the 3rd easiest schedule in the West, next to the Kings and Lakers. You've still had an easy schedule.
I'm not trying to insult your team, but let's wait until the Spurs start playing championship contenders before we start making snap judgments.
Calling it the "3rd easiest" - while true - is still a little bit deceptive. Spurs total opponent winning percentage is .480
The spread between that and the Mavs opponent winning percentage (.532) is sizeable, sure.
But it doesn't come close to the spread between the "3rd easiest" schedule in the league (.480) and that of the Lakers - .411.
In any case I don't think for one second that the Spurs are first in line as championship contenders based on the season so far. Anybody who actually watches the game will tell you that the favorite as of right now has to be Boston.
true
in reality Spurs are playing piss poor defense. I am not sure why they have the best record in the league, maybe mostly because the rest of the league took a year off IMO.
But it is true Spurs display flashes of brilliance that has not shown since 2005.
Still, long way to go. Spurs need to start playing D otherwise it's a waste of a year.
cool story bro
geez none of the teams who have had one of the top 10 hardest schedules so far is a serious contender aside from the Mavs (4th) and maybe Jazz (10th)
San Antonio at 22? Magic at 23? Heat at 24? and worst of all, Lakers dead last at 30th???
Mavs most definitely have a great shot at winning well over 60 games if they stay healthy and focused, considering how they have weathered the storm of the early part of their schedule.
