Spurs refuse to play their guards tight, sagging off, under screens, open jumpers.

Lionel Hollins doesn't even look fazed. No one on the Grizz is afraid of the Spurs.

You know what, guys? Good teams make runs. The Grizzlies have been made into a good team by a weak, mediocre Spurs team over the last four games. So now they've got a battle. Guess what? The playoffs aren't the cakewalk the Spurs seemed to think they were going to be, and they'll have to weather storms and come back with their own runs.

MEM has to be full of confidence. They did about as good as you could ask to weather the storm from a 1 seed with their backs against the wall at home. Spurs and leads aren't the best of friends because of their lapses on defense and their ability to miss so many shots.

This lead is too close. Spurs better not let up and let the Grizz back into it.

Also Hill needs to be seriously demoted. Rookie George Hill was a better player than him.

8-pt Spurs advantage is not a comfortable lead.

So we hold Gasol and Randolph to 33% shooting and then get lit up by Mike Conley

Margin of lead only increased by two between end of the first and half time score...should have increased by ten or twelve, tbh

If we increase the lead in the third quarter close to a blow out it will increase our chances to win game six by resting the starters.

    Conley 8 for 10.

Stepping up and carrying his team.

Spurs better come out hard in 2nd.

I saw 2011 Spurs Basketball for a few minutes there.

    That's the good.

The bad is that the Spurs played well, the Grizzlies played perhaps their worst half of the season .... and the Spurs are up eight.

    Ugh.

One question: knowing that Hill is one of the worst inbounders EVER, why give him the ball for the inbound pass on important plays like this ALL THE GODDAMN TIME?

Tim sat for 8 minutes of the second quarter. That's too much. Our defense on the high pick and roll has been beyond atrocious. Memphis can go to that play all day because our guards are playing lazy D.

George Hill has been worthless. I'm loving the aggression from Manu and Timmy, and the court vision of Tony.

I'll take an 8 point lead...even though it should be at least 16.

The Spurs played great defense, with a few lapses.

The SPurs played their offense, with few turnovers.

The Spurs have been firmly in control of this game.

Conley earned the Spurs not going under screens in the second half. They should be able to play defense.

The Spurs just can't get a break on defense. And they need ONE bench player to step it up. I had hoped it'd be Hill since he could do it at both ends of the floor, but it's looking highly unlikely it'll be him. So Neal or Bonner it is. I've given up 100% on RJ.
