Since you are 26, you've been an adult for 8 or 9 years. You know that there are things you do in order to protect yourself from the evils of society that those younger do not consistently do. You are also learning that you can do things better, especially if you lose something valuable and have to buy it again. You eventually change your approach to protect it differently. If you left your watch on your car seat and I stole it. I am at fault. You are not smart for leaving it there, but anyone can make that mistake. Now you do it again and I take it again. Now it's a trend. You didn't learn. You kick yourself for making that mistake again. Make that 3 times and you start getting the idea of where I might be going with it. After a while you should just leave your window open and give me a coupon for a new watch. That would save you time and money.
Sure there can be anomalies where one person is a repeated random target. Normally though it's just the easiest target that gets hit over and over (sex jokes aside).
