91 all over again
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angele...ory?id=6540897The Los Angeles Lakers have had to replace two coaching legends in the last 20 years: Phil Jackson and Pat Riley. The only time it's worked out well, the team turned to Mike Dunleavy. They're thinking of doing the same again this time.
Dunleavy was contacted by the team this week and is said to be on the team's current "short list" to succeed Jackson, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
That list also includes former Houston Rockets coach Rick Adelman, who ESPN.com Marc Stein and ESPNLosAngeles.com's Dave McMenamin reported Thursday also would be a candidate for the position.
Adelman will likely be the replacement, but if this happens![]()
I may actually start to like the Lakers if Adelman gets the job
He is my favorite coach
Did you go back to your Spur fandom, Lefty? Nice avatar though...that's some serious milkage.
It's all just noise.
Shaw has the jobPERIOD
adelman...sons, we collecting Rockets coaches now?
local radio guys (mason and ireland) said they think dunleavy would be a good choice.
So whatever happened to Brian Shaw becoming the Head Coach? Everybody within the Lakers organization always made it sound like it was a lock that he would be Jackson's successor....
The Lakers got swept in the 2nd round so now they go into full panic mode.
Please let this happen. But if he can take the clippers to the playoffs, he can work miracles.

Adelman > Shaw
Adelman couldn't even command CWEBB into holding still for a shot clock.
