Rofl what a fail the new Wii is.
This E3 has been ty tbh, had high hopes for the reboot of DMC but it doesn't look too great. Interested in the new Sonic game, being a fanboy and all.

You may be right about the PC being an afterthought, but there are more games created for the PC in one month than all consoles put together.
Check Steam out sometime. There is so much variety and indie development most of the successful stuff gets ported to the console marketplace via PSN and Live (and vice versa, Spolsion Man, Braid, etc).
Also, if you think Skyrim is best played on anything but a PC, there is really nothing more to discuss. That version of Oblivion you may have played on consoles sucked donkey- compared to the PC version. Same with any shooter, ever, the best RPGs are always on PC (unless you want to harken back to the Dragon Quest days and FF7), the only RTS even available on consoles that I can think of is CivRev which is a dumbed-down cartoon of Civ4 (which I admittedly enjoy) so thats an entire genre of games youll never play on a console, etc.
It is an afterthought, I admit. But every game thats available for both consoles and PC are always best played and experienced on a PC. I loooooong for the day when console gamers can play against PC gamers in any compe ive game, whether RTS or Shooter. There is a reason every time its tried, its scrapped because the moment you put someone with a controller up against someone with M+K, the only chance the console player has is based on coded aim assists.
As compared to the goliaths of sesame street? I'm not a PC gamer but to say there isn't anything worthwhile on the pc is stupid.
As for the casualization of the console market, I don't think it's as bad as most "hardcore" gamers would have you believe. One of two things can happen. The first is that the casual gamers get bored with the motion control gimmicks in a few years and go back to playing Angry Birds on their phones. The second is that the casual gimmicks introduce them to the more loved, advanced les which then turns them into "hardcore" gamers. The whole motion control thing is a gimmick, and the big 3 are trying to get their money from it while they still can.
It's not just the increase in casual games that sucks, its that no new games are being created. Companies are either just sticking numbers on the end of a franchise (MW3) or re-releasing old games on new consoles (pretty much the whole 3DS library). There are some damn good games coming out like Arkham City, Skyrim etc though,
Wii U seems pretty bad ass tbh. Might have to pick one of those up if the price is right.
As for PC, the SC2 expansion will be enough for me this year. Several games at E3 will be on the PC as well like just about every FPS.
I pray that Skyrim isn't as buggy as Vegas, I wanted to love that game but I just couldn't.
vegas wasn't made by bethesda it was published by them
You're correct Vegas was developed by Obsidian, and published by Bethesda, but the engine used was Bethesda's Fallout 3 engine (a successor of the Oblivion engine). That said, looking at Fallout 3 and Oblivion, Bethesda does seem to have higher QA standards.
PC gaming is for people with no friends.
Weird, I met some of my best friends playing Quake.
Don't really have much to say after Dark Reign/Leetonidas blew you both out of the water.
maybe some day you'll make enough money to buy a decent PC and actually be able to experience the superiority of the platform. Nevermind, it's probably too complicated for you
lol consoles
tbh I was trying to troll someone in this thread but you took the bait, sorry about that.
BTW, RTS and shooters are two genres that bore me to death so that's probably why I haven't played a PC game in a looooooooong time. My last system that I built was a AMD 2500 with a Radeon 9500 Pro. Yeah it's been a good six, seven years and I dread the days when I needed to change the voltage of my system to overclock my system for a couple of frames, have a couple of fans in the case to suck out the heat, edit the ini of the game to make sure it's been optimized for my system and use modded drivers that have been messed around with to make sure I'm squeezing ever juice I can out of it. I don't miss the days of the 500 MB patch (those patches are bigger nowadays right?) for the system to make sure video cards are being supported and the developers have patched the game with a "10% improvement for X cards".
Sure Skyrim is going to be best played on the PC but I'm not a graphics (no offense to anyone) so I don't care. Give me the Uncharted games any day of the week instead of an RTS or FPS. I can basically lay down on the couch with my controller in hand and not worry where I have to lay down the keyboard and mouse. But these are all my preferences on why I enjoy consoles over PCs but there are good things going for the PCs and there are good things for the consoles.
Consoles as we know it today are going to be obsolete in the next decade or so due to cloud gaming so there's that as well.
Here's the guy I wanted to troll.
How are you enjoying upgrading every two years to have "max" details?
lol pc gaming
lol expensive hobby that only nerds care about
lol showing your e-peen on system specs
It's called the Gamebryo engine, and while true that it's dated, it's also exceptionally easy to mod. I still play both FO3 and FNV. FNV isn't buggy at all anymore (on PC), since the modding community has addressed many of the problems, including touching up the graphics.
Anyone getting the GOW 3 console?
I got 450$ in gamestop credit thats been sitting on my shelf for a year I know what I'm going to do with it.
Okay got, I'll play
I'm running the same system since 07', with the exception of a new gfx card. Total investment, under a G.
You've probably bought 3 consoles in the same period of time, including all the stupid on the periphery. like controllers, kinect, move, steering wheels, etc. Additionally, you're probably posting from a PC/Mac, which means your total investment is much higher than mine. I love winning this argument, it's so easy.
Meanwhile, you're in here whining about all these console related items and how bad E3 sucks.
I'm simply looking forward to all the cool games coming out for PC.
There are definitely a handful of games that I miss which only come out on consoles, like red-dead and Gran Turismo.
But the I would miss out on in the other direction is far, far greater.
I can live with going to my 12 year old nephew's house to play that stuff and get my fix. It works out
Yeah ing right. A four year old system is obsolete (much less a "under a G") as and I'm sure you enjoy everything on "low". Don't bull the bull ter.
Yet you say "maybe some day you'll make enough money to buy a decent PC". Make up your ing mind, am I rich that I can afford all that or too poor that I can't afford a good PC?You've probably bought 3 consoles in the same period of time, including all the stupid on the periphery. like controllers, kinect, move, steering wheels, etc. Additionally, you're probably posting from a PC/Mac, which means your total investment is much higher than mine. Name me some.I'm simply looking forward to all the cool games coming out for PC.
While true I'm not running anything on maxed out settings anymore, I can still easily run everything else on medium settings.
Love how didn't refute my point, dip . Glad your mommy lends you money so you can buy all that garbageYet you say "maybe some day you'll make enough money to buy a decent PC". Make up your ing mind, am I rich that I can afford all that or too poor that I can't afford a good PC?
PC exclusives only, or games that will be multi-platform?Name me some.
It's definitely true that it's time for an upgrade. I plan on doing it before BF3 comes out because I'm still running XP and BF3 will only support DX10/11
my specs
2.2 dual core (OC'd)
2 GB Ram
GTX285 (OC'd)
The initial investment for my system was under 650. My gfx card was 300
I'm playing witcher2 with AA and SSAO on, so yeah, I'm still happy with my performance
I was wrong. Clearly, PC gaming is for unsexed s that whine incessantly.
