It's a split second decision, whether Chandler had his foot set or not, 50-50, that's as much as we can give about the "blatant" referee mistake in favor of the Mavs. But the way Marion's hand was hacked in the midair layup motion by LBJ, is that not blatant enough within any standard, non complicated rule books held by Heat fans that crying foul over the previous action ??
I knew there was some sort of way you could draw charges in the restricted area, because I've seen it happen before, but I didnt know what the stipulations were. Now I know. Good .
no. what changed the game was when crunchtime hit. Miami still doesnt know how to score in halfcourt sets when defenses clamp down. they have to just hope they can hit wild shots and contested 3s, which is not a good offense to run.
that call happened with still over 2 minutes to go and only being down 2 points. if they played some smarter defense and hit shots on their end, they win the game. dont forget how they were giftwrapped another chance at a comeback down the stretch when bron fouled the out of Marion on that breakaway dunk.
officiating all series has had plenty of very sketchy moments, but not heavily in favor of one team or another. its been pretty fair and even overall.
When Lebron catches the ball he clearly has his right foot past the endline mark so Chandler's foot inside the restricted area is irrelevant for the case. The only arguable thing is whether Chandler was in position before Lebron went up or not. If it was in Miami refs don't make that call, but it's not an outrageous call or anything like that, nor the reason why Miami lost.
