LOL at the OP thinking the Lakers needed this draft.
Yeah how stupid. Draft some unknown from overseas, leave em there to develop if at all and save the cash or draft some ty late round college guy you have to develop....
... when neither has a shot at a roster spot.
No doubt they should follow the Spurs plan as they have harvested so many more les!![]()
Yeah, that was kind of funny to see their last two picks, but I was checking some Lakers boards yesterday and it was all according to plan, noted by outgoing assistant GM Ronnie Lister. They figured with four 2nd round picks to draft guards with the first two. After that, it was doubtful anyone else could make the team so they figured just pick foreign guys, or locals who would play overseas a few years, and see what happens down the line.
If all teams wouldn't trade so much, they would all have a 1st and a 2nd round pick each year, and both could probably make the team that picked them.
well if there was a draft to stay out of. this was it.
Yeah it's not like the Lakers are old as .
this draft was horrid ......
you know what. the media hype of this draft sucking helped the Spurs make a killing. They turned a mediocre player into a top 10 pick and 2 round 1 picks. Jury is still out but still, I think this draft sucking was overhyped.
Almost every year someone says This draft class sucks. Gets tired. Yea Like everyone watches college basketball that thoroughly. stfu and let's just see how they pan out.
it's funny cause most ppl decide a draft sucks because there are no 4-5 superduper stars.
who knows many of these guys could be serviceable guys
this draft is like the 2000 draft....sucks!
Lakers rarely build through the draft... their last impact draftee is Bynum, and they're trying to ship his ass out already...
Lol criticizing the #56 pick in the draft
Chukwudiebere is an awesome name though
I didn't realize people actually sat through this draft after the D-Will pick.
LOL all that great scouting led to the RJ trade AND re-signing!!!!
from a spurs site:
Tim Varner of 48 Minutes of explains (and you should read the whole thing): "Richard Jefferson is a problem. He’s overpaid. He under-performs. His contract threatens to cripple the Spurs under a more restrictive, cap-tight CBA. Jefferson is a mediocre defender but the Spurs need a wing stopper—the only thing RJ’s defense has put a stop to is Gregg Popovich’s long suffering, patient, and tender disposition."![]()
This year, it's not that someone says this draft class sucks. It's that pretty much EVERYONE says this draft class sucks, even writers and analysts who watch college basketball thoroughly.
Your point is taken, and I'm sure some of these kids will end up being good or even really good NBA players. But this year, it's pretty much consensus that this draft sucks.
He's got a point, but hindsight is 20-20... That same Tim Varner was lauding the Spurs FO greatness of handing out that contract so they could avoid luxury tax implications.
...and almost every year some Spurfans blow their load cause they draft a couple more uncir cised euros and immediately expect them to be the next Ginobili or Sabonis. Gets tired. Kawhi Leonard was a nice pick, but I'd venture to say the rest of the eurotrash you collected will see as much playing time as the spearchuckers LA grabbed with the late picks.
We won the Draft!!!!
NA = F

Why U mad, bro?
