    A friend of mine has an older WRT 54G router, and he deosn't know jack about computers and stuff, in fact I set up his router, and he has had ZERO issue

    The WRT54G is getting harder to find, I will probably have to look for it online

    Heck, even on some websites, it's temporarily out of stock

    The newer models are ty

    But the older ones work pretty well


    And now the 54G is more expensive than the newer 160N

    it just died all of a sudden... granted time warner sucks but all the while i thought they were the problem as to why my internet kept cutting in and out and later i found out the hard way that it was the router itself.

    did that, as well i used some hacked firmware and it still crapped out.

    yeah but the thing lasted a couple yrs at least and then went bunk for like 4 months before it finally died.

    reload the firmware..
    Yeah did that

    Reflashed it with open source firmware as well


    Its more of a hardware issue; plus, the WRT-N160 overheats easily

    So I just bought a new router, and my crappy WRT160 N is now working flawlessy
