The insertion of Rapinoe seems to have turned the tide for the US. Her service from the left wing created the Wambach goal (again -- even if indirectly) and they've done a much better job of maintaining possession and pressure since that point.

The FNT has no defense though. It'll be hard to compete against usa or brazil in the semi.
    proud of the girls though!!

hopefully women's football will become more popular in france.

Solo almost gave the game away with a horrendous pass. Props for recovering.....Pia made all the right choices and tactical adjustments beautifully. Lloyd going out was critical....she was giving away the ball too easily. US needed to relax and gain possession....Rapinoe provided that. Morgan's speed and finishing capped it off. Bob Bradley would've clapped his hands and told the team to run faster.

    LOL Bradley

No joke..Give them a finisher with those midfield players and it doesnt matter who plays goalie.

, almost gave the game away, really....US defenders played well and never seemed to panic when it seemed the odds were in the favor of a french goal. Never hurts to have a really good goalie watching your back as well

Forgot to mention that Wambach is a monster on high balls or set pieces around the goal...

I'm going to go ahead and wait for Jag to come in and tells us just how overrated Abby Wambach is again.

Not only did she finish that header, but she played some nice D and had a couple of awesome through balls that set up teammates. She is vital to getting the cup.

did you watch the game patna? France had all the momentum coming out of the second half. They equalized and dominated possession for the early part of the second half. Solo received a back pass and she blindly passed it to a french player right in the 18. It could've easily resulted in the go ahead goal for france....

....plus I never said the US defenders didn't play well. The whole US team seem to panic by absorbing a lot of body blows and giving away the ball to that French possession machine. Pia made brilliant tactical changes by putting Cheney in midfield and inserting Rapinoe and Morgan provided speed to pressure and provided more ball control. This neutralized the French attack EVEN THOUGH the US defenders played well....especially Suabraun will hadn't played a minute before this match. It'll be interesting to see if she starts over the returning Buehler.

That Solo pass was really bad. I know exactly which one you're talking about. She was under a bit of pressure at that point though - but she should have just cleared it.

France utterly dominated the 2nd half for the first 30 minutes. They didn't dominate as much for the next 15, but they were definitely getting the better of the US. But the US looked extremely dangerous on every chance they got this game and it was no surprise that Abby got a goal on a corner against the run of play.

France is very impressive technically, but their keeper is a huge weakspot and Abby the US did very well to exploit that on the limited chances they got. Great subs by Pia. One reason the USWNT does so much better is because they have a much better coach.

Megan Rapinoe is easily my favorite player on this team. She's just damn good. Amazing the US has her and Morgan to bring off the bench.

Every second my man and as I do agree it was a errant pass but in no way was it anymore threatning than about 3-4 other french scoring chances that hope stopped..So do you really want to talk about this or the many other saves she had to help US to the finals?

I work and attend the University of New Mexico. We had a fairly decent crowd watching the game. I'd say it was about 30 people but maybe a shade less. I got to watch the final 20 minutes with them and it was pretty freaking awesome when Abby scored and almost as good a few minutes later on the Morgan chip.

Not sure which organization got the projector set up but props to them.
