    I don't really care.
    great, then don't respond.

Don't you find it funny that a country like the US that imposes so many things worldwide can't impose its sports? And it's not for a lack of exposure.
Where have you been? The US sport of basketball has been spreading around the world like wildfire in the last 15-20 years.

Soccer and basketball are very cheap and easy start up sports. No surprise to me that they are so popular on a global scale.

I do think the cost of playing American football is a factor as well.

soccer fan lets his gf shows her ties in the stadium to show team support.

football fan wears a piece of cheese on his head in the stadium to show team support.

that pretty much says it all about them 2 sports.

That's my point, basketball sticked (never on the level of football) because people like it, things that didn't happen with the NFL and baseball.

If people actually cared about American football they would play it, you can play American football with just a ball, to play basket you need a ball and a hoop.

Tennis is a much more expensive sport than American football yet it is a lot more popular worldwide. The NFL doesn't catch on 'cause people doesn't care about it, same with baseball.

I'd love to enjoy American Football but I just can't stand seeing about 2 minutes of the game followed by a ton of time reviewing it and watching adverts. Maybe you have to be American I dunno, give me rugby any day.

Plain and simple, it's for people with the attention span of a goldfish not surprising since most Americans seemingly have ADHD. 10 seconds of action, they leave, go pee, get beer and come back and then another 10 seconds of action.

Don't get me wrong though, I like to watch handegg but I love football more.

that wasn't really your point, tbh.

basketball stuck because it is a simple concept and simple to set up and play, imo.

If people actually cared about American football they would play it, you can play American football with just a ball, to play basket you need a ball and a hoop.
to play organized American tackle football, you need pads and helmets for each player and 11 guys on each side.

Tennis is a much more expensive sport than American football.
    that's incredibly wrong

    it's laughably wrong, tbh

We're talkig about amateur playing here. If people liked the game they would play it regardless. If people around the World can play Rugby without protection then they can play American Football too.

    it's laughably wrong, tbh
Why? Because you said so? I love how you say: that's wrong, that's not what you meant and don't provide a single reason as to why that is the way you say it is.

To play tennis you have to buy balls (every two matches), raquets and pay for playing time on a court because you can't play it anywhere else. For every match I play I have to pay 40 bucks and that's without counting the raquet, balls and clothes.

LOL I grew up as a kid playing football and all we needed as an open space and a ball. We didn't need pads - we didn't even need grass. Who didn't play football in a street as a kid?

I find soccer boring all on my own.

I'm not sure that it's just pure coincidence, however, that the vast majority of my fellow countrymen find soccer less interesting that football, basketball or baseball.
lmao WTF???? is this really your take, Blake???

I'm not so sure that it's pure coincidence, but the vast majority of my fellow human beings find soccer more interesting than football, basketball, and baseball.

Anyway, I'm not sure that it's just pure coincidence, however, that the vast majority of Americans believe gays should not be allowed to marry, that everything in the bible is true, and also that marijuana is a more harmful substance than alcohol. I really hope it's pure coincidence that these things are true, but it could be the case that the majority are re s.

How can you play good tackle football in the street? The street is not wide enough to have a real good football game with enough players on each side and you will get all scraped up tackling.

    I literally just face palmed.

Of course you dont play tackle football in the street.

You never played touch in the street? And of course you dont play 11 on 11 with an offensive line etc.

    WTF?

You've never seen kids playing in Africa or South America with a rolled up ball of tape because they don't' have a soccer ball? You've never seen them playing with tiny goals in an alley - something like 2v2 or w/e?

    Good lord.

that the US doesn't/can't impose it's sports on other countries.

We're talkig about amateur playing here. If people liked the game they would play it regardless. If people around the World can play Rugby without protection then they can play American Football too.
    Not so much.

Amateur play at even the high school level costs loads more than some match between Serena and Venus.

Why? Because you said so? I love how you say: that's wrong, that's not what you meant and don't provide a single reason as to why that is the way you say it is.

lol why should anyone believe that tennis costs more, just because you say so.

and lmao having to buy clothes to play tennis.

it does not cost more to play organized tennis than organized tackle football.

ftr, I can/have played tennis plenty of times for no cost at the local high school. Racquet is a one time cost, roughly same as the football. Balls are +/- $3 a can. If you want to claim $3 > $0, then goody, you win that argument.

TBH, BB was invented by a Canadian
who became a US citizen in 1925.

irony here is that he used a soccer ball as one of the first basketballs.

Enough with the tennis vs. football cost comparisons, that debate is re ed and going nowhere useful. Everything boggles back down to the main argument: soccer is boring because the majority of Americans say so . That's literally the only "argument" being made.

Not hard to simply have a football and play on any random patch of grass, as is done all over the country. Growing up, did you only play pick up football if there were at least 22 kids for 11 vs 11, 22 sets of shoulder pads, helmets, knee and thigh pads, cleats, and a lined field with goal posts? We simply grabbed a ball and played. Wow. That sounds identical to soccer, the costs are essentially equal. I'm not up to date with soccer ball and football prices, but I would imagine them being around the same price.

Obviously if someone didn't have their cleats or thigh pads we just played soccer. In my neighborhood, anyway.
