If you're talking about a "college pick em'", then yes...Yes we will![]()
TE David Thomas has re-signed with the New Orleans Saints for three years.
Quick update on 2013 OL Josh Thomas of Shreveport Evangel Christian. He recently got back from an LSU camp and he was not offered (he will be eventually). Good thing is he mentioned Texas quite a few times in this particular article. Here are some quotes of interest:
"I was a little disappointed that I didn't get it (the offer) on the spot but I understand the process that they have go through to pick who comes to the school or not," Thomas said. "I realized that (offensive) coach (Greg Studrawa) Stud has to talk to (head) coach (Les) Miles and really discuss it heavily and then give the offer. That was a good to know and I took that to heart."
"It (the LSU camp) was different than anything we normally do or at Texas (camp)," Thomas said. "They focused more on run blocking because they like to run the ball more. We're just getting used to running the ball more at Evangel so I wasn't really used to it.
"I'm going to try and it would be easier to make an LSU game rather than a Texas game," Thomas said. "I'll try to make one of the LSU games."
Per Rivals, UT target Geno Smith will make his decision on August 17th. Bama and Auburn are the leaders. Keep your cell phone on Colin Blake.
As I said previously, a recruit always remembers his first offer. If Texas is going to get recruits out of Louisiana, the coaches better get on them early. Shreveport seems to be Texas' focal point in Louisiana right now.
Good find, Bill. Looks like he's staying true to that August timeline.
I know he likes LSU, but I'm just not sure how much at this point. He's already been to campus a few times for camps and games. I wonder if that's more of a reflection of geography rather than an actual love for Baton Rouge. Anyway, he'll be a prospect that will be interesting to watch come February.
Pic of 2013 DB Antwuan Davis of Bastrop at the Junior Olympics. Word is he favors Texas A&M right now mainly due to their track team's success, but hopefully that'll change by February. One of the top DBs in the state for his class.

That picture is straight gangsta. Aggie should have offered Antwuan Davis when he attended their summer camp. In my opinion, Davis will be the top corner in the state next year. Many believe Davis will be a top 50 - 100 player nationally. Davis has posted sub 10.4 100 times, scary fast.
If Texas were able to get Josh Thomas, it would give the coaches the freedom to try A'Shawn Robinson on both sides of the football. The same could be said of Raulerson.
I think Geno Smith committing elsewhere, which he will likely will do, and Colin Blake making an unofficial visit before the season could be the catalyst for Blake to finally receive a Texas offer.

Hey, guess what? There's something you can do when you want to post something regarding an entirely different topic.
You can make another thread.
QB Jameis Winston of Hueytown, AL committed to Florida State today. Just another big name some of y'all might be familiar with.

Size and speed.
Landing Peat will make those kind of decisions much easier.
I do believe that the staff wants to evaluate a handful of DBs through the first few weeks of the season, but it's an interesting thought that Blake not visiting campus yet could be a big factor in why he hasn't received an offer. Brown rarely ever offers anyone without a sit-down in his office first and surely Blake knows that. Could be the reason he's been showing some initiative lately to get to campus before his high school season starts.

Floss, I don't see the DB evaluation going past Week 4 in the high school football season, do you concur?
I'd say that's a good timeframe to look at.
it's all good. Haven't seen you around much in awhile. welcome back (and stick around for CFB season)

As for Geno, I still say Bama. General consensus from Auburn people is Bama. His mom wants Bama.
But, he's been shifty and cryptic about what comes out of his mouth or on the internet, so who knows?
On Jameis Winston, I'm really surprised (and relieved) he went to FSU and not Bama. Jimbo Fisher is recruiting like a madman. ACC better watch out
Didn’t want to start a thread for one quick question.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the players are reporting today and practice will start tomorrow.
I'm hoping for no surprises when the players report.
Anyone else seeing the rumor that DB Charles Jackson of Klein Collins has failed to qualify and won't be enrolling at Nebraska? I'll keep looking for a link throughout the day. He wanted that Texas offer so badly but likely why he didn't receive one if the rumor turns out to be true.
It's being reported that Tech QB Seth Doege ate a burger. Don't know if he had fries with it.......pure speculation at this point that he did.
Mack is live right now on texassports.com if anyone cares.
WR Malcolm Williams is done. Very unfortunate for him.
