Yes, actually choosing what to respond to makes me "emotionally attached."
Man, your posts are becoming even more illogical. You are reaching badly right now.
I didn't quite claim that they had no bearing. If I did, I'm sorry because I can't know that. I called the portrayals irrelevant and I asked you to provide evidence that previous interpretations will have an important impact on this interpretation. I guess "irrelevant" isn't quite the word to use. I would go with "inconsequential" instead.
Some characters, yes. I not once stated anything to the contrary. Some characters are hard to imagine being really good, do you agree or not?
Don't disagree with you there.Sometimes, things are done and re-done and none of them work out.
Did you base your opinion on the comics, the movies or both? This is the first time I have seen you mention the comics. It is not a stretch to say that based on everything we know (other movies, comics, ...) that the character itself, regardless of who is playing it and who is directing just isn't very interesting.
Which is why I didn't make that claim. Your strawmans are getting tiresome.Clinging to the fact "well, we don't know how Nolan will portray her and we can't know unless we see a trailer that shows Catwoman or until after we see the movie" is just flat out dumb.
I thought it was calling jumping to conclusions. It's called deductive reasoning.
Let's see what you originally posted:I am deducing that because the character itself is weak (IMO) that it will add nothing because nothing to date has changed that fact for me. Could that be different? Sure, but with everything I have to go off of so far, I don't see it which is why I am skeptical.
So, which is it? Is there a possibility that Selina Kyle will contribute to the film in a positive way, or is there literally nothing good that can come out of using this character?
If it's the former, again, I have no problem with being a little skeptic about the character. If it's the latter, then I disagree with your reasoning.
Doesn't stop you from posting similar things.
I want to congratulate RedZero for being so professional throughout this Catwoman debate.
Thank you. Much appreciated. Too bad I can't say the same thing about you.
I instantly knew what I was in for when you tried to draw me into getting mad like you did with balli--which is your best work, by the way--so I responded to each of your posts without calling you stupid or sending you angry pms, to make your "you're taking this too seriously" angle worthless.
You flatter me.
I have to give you credit where credit is due, though. You really played the "mentally weak/you're taking this too seriously/stop getting emotional because I have an opinion" angle throughout this entire conversation, even though it wasn't really working.
Everybody has their off days.
You saw right through that. Fact remains Catwoman sucks.
For the billionth time, I'm okay with you disliking Catwoman. That was never my major disagreement with you.
I'm starting to think mouse took over your account or something, judging from how many times you completely missed the point in this thread. For the most part, that was just out of character with you.
This thread is about batman and batman related things. Not whos vagina bleeds the most on a thursday
Trolling attempt aside, that's just stupid.
Are we, then, supposed to assume that Hardy's Bane will be inextricably linked to the mute, green thug in Batman & Robin? Or the level boss in Batman: Arkham Asylum?
Is our understanding of Ledger's Joker meant to be filtered through our previous knowledge of Nicholson's Joker? And is that performance meant to be considered as related to/a continuation of Cesar Romero's campy 60s Joker?
Missing the point ^. I already said it's not that it has to be linked through our previous knowledge of other portrayals. I said it's not the same situation as the Joker, because the character the Joker is not inherently a weak one like almost all female super heroes. The difference in the Joker argument vs the Catwoman argument is that we already know the Joker can be done well. I'm not questioning the woman playing Catwoman, like those who questioned Heath playing the Joker, I'm questioning the character itself because it sucks and I am saying that it's my opinion that the reason you have never seen a good Catwoman is because it can't be done because the character sucks for a movie.
It's not about linking something to the previous performance per say, but it's about using previous performances to highlight how difficult it is to do a character well when it's never been done before because the character is a weak one from a superhero standpoint.
We got this image via email this morning...Its said to be the First Look Inside the Blackgate Prison Riot in Dark Knight Rises featuring Deadshot, played by Jesse-Lee Lafferty....apparently he is hired by Talia..
god damn dude you're going to know every scene before the ing movie comes out
Relax
It could be fake![]()
That'd be my guess in this case. So far everything that has leaked has been pretty obviously photographed from a pretty good distance. Even the recent Catwoman images look like cropped images from a telephoto lens, rather than from a close distance. If that image is real, it was taken by someone on set.
According to Variety columnist Jeff Snyder, Juno Temple is actually playing Harley Quinn instead of Holly Robinson...

You think they're gonna do some odd side shot of Joker in an asylum with harley talking to him?
No, I don't think so
But she will share Joker's opinion of the establishment
(as crazy as he is, Joker was right about our society during the interrogation scene)
TDKR seems to be be based on No Man's Land, I can see her starting some in the middle of that mess
But hey, maybe she will play Holly after all![]()
I would kill for a NML adaptation. Even if it was just a motion comic kinda thing.
watch all his videos hes a talented dude

8 Minute ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Prologue Attached to ‘Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’ in IMAX?
A trusted theater (read: exhibitor) source has just exclusively alerted /Film that Warner Bros. plans to attach an eight minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises to all IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Christopher Nolan‘s third film in his Batman trilogy is being released by Warner Bros. and Brad Bird‘s first live action film is Paramount, but the arrangement would certainly be mutually beneficial as Mission: Impossible is the biggest IMAX release of the holiday season. Putting a teaser for The Dark Knight Rises in front of it would certainly drive audiences to that format as opposed to regular theaters.
Warner Bros. did something similar in 2007 when they attached the opening sequence to The Dark Knight to the Will Smith film I Am Legend. Without one of their own films being released in IMAX later this year, however, Mission: Impossible should draw in the same coveted 18-35 demo that are sure to be repeat Batman viewers. Nolan and Bird both also shot extensive scenes for each movie in IMAX, making it their format of choice for exhibition.
If this happens, audiences would get their first chance at seeing The Dark Knight Rises footage in IMAX on December 16. That’s because Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is opening exclusively in IMAX five days before its general release, which is on December 21. The exclusive opening is one reason to see the film in IMAX. The full scenes shot in IMAX format are another. And 8 minutes from the most anticipated film of this decade are a serious bonus.
Reached for contact, Warner Bros. declined to comment on this story. So, assuming our source is correct, what do you think? Odds are you were going to see Mission: Impossible either way, but will you go now specifically for The Dark Knight Rises?
