Honestly, Milan fans have to thank Ibrahimovic for not making the trip.
Brazil > Bartha
Yeah, getting a point is very good for Arsenal considering the way the game went. Unfortunately, of course, to concede this late and tis way, but still, if Dortmund had been more clinical, they would have been up 2-0 after 10 minutes.
There's still a lot of work to do in London ...

Business is business...football is football. There aren't that many ways to beat Barca, and for an under-matched opponent, AKA all of their opponents, it's understandable to pack everyone into the defense especially after going up 1-0. How often do teams go up 1-0 vs. Barca? How often do teams go up 1-0 vs. Barca, continue attacking and leaving the defense vulnerable against a very fast reacting team, and actually hold the lead and win?
It just seems like the logical thing to do once winning, since it's so hard anymore to win against Barca for any team. To me it seems y to complain when teams do this...what do you expect? Barcelona just had the most dominant team of all the clubs in the world this past season and they got significantly stronger/deeper over the off season. I obviously understand you're complaining because it makes for an uglier match, but it makes sense to play ultra-defensively after going up 1-0 vs. Barca. Perhaps that isn't the most attractive way to play, and you could say it's disrespecting the game...but Barca aren't entirely looking out for what's best for football either, when they have Messi, Villa, Pedro, Sanchez, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Thiago, Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano, Dani Alves, Pique, Puyol, etc. Every single game they can have the best attacking midfielders in the world playing, the best forward along with some other elite forwards, and world quality defenders....and still have world-class players of the three positions on the bench. Other top clubs would love to have the players Barca has on the bench.
Just seems funny to complain about something like this, it's like telling the opponents: OK, we're going to play the best players in the world against you and ensure 70-85% ball possession, we're going to get roughly 20 shots off guaranteed, and you must not play defensively.
If Milan did the same thing against an equal or inferior opponent, I get your point, but IMO expecting the best of both worlds (fair, aesthetic game vs. player disparity) is weak.

Barca
No Ibra
No Robinho
No Gattuso
NOT lol italy
Agree 100%. We're talking about the best team in the world, a team that overwhelmed every team on earth LAST season and still went out and spent 70 million Euros over the summer, including a captain of another major club to be a freakin' sub. As you said, they control the majority of possession on any given night, and whenever teams try to play aggressively, Barca ALWAYS punishes you.
Why the should any team be expect to play to Barca's strengths? If they don't like it, they shouldn't give up a goal in 23 seconds, or whenever. It's like playing the original USA dream team and ing when Greece uses Hack-a-Shaq.
Just be glad that it wasn't Super Pippo playing instead of Cassano, because would have turned ugly really fast for Bartha.
Also, because you blame Mourinho for these "defensive" tactics, it's obvious you haven't watched any football before Messi became "God." But it's ok, let's talk about 09-present... Do you not remember that awful ing Barcelona v Chelsea tie? 1st leg at Nou Camp, Bartha plays 11 in the box the whole ing game, then in the return leg Iniesta (lol injured) scores a fluky ing goal to go to Rome.
Managed to watch the second half before work this morning.. Milan were immense in D especially Nesta really proud of the way they stuck to it for 90 minutes considering it was just their second game of the season .. but playing that deep for that long against Barca is asking for trouble. One tiny mistake here or there and Barca can rip you apart.
And LMAO at Allegri... Milan is going no where playing Clarence ing Seedorf in their big games.. if your going sit your ass back for 90 minutes why not put some speed in the midfield to counter attack as soon as Milan won possession the ball would go to Seedorf and he would lose it immediately because hes so slow.
Anyway great result for Milan .. heaps of room for improvement though.
Injuries my friend. It would have been nice to have Robinho in a winger position. But since he's banged up, Clarence and Cassano had to start the match, then Seedorf move to center mid once Boateng got injured around the 30th (iirc), and ing Ambro had to fill the void.
Also, i know it's only been two games, but I'm loving how Aquilani is fitting with this group. Milan could have used the likes of Pirlo today, but Aquilani def showed a lot of promise with this squad
After everything, it's always nice to see how one's favorite team matches up against the best in the world.

That's an old team Milan put out there today. Game could've easily ended 4-1 for Barça, so the tie at the end is a great result.
Barça looks sleep at the wheel sometimes. Noticed it too in La Liga game over the weekend. Just wondering if it's just the start of the season or if they think they can just coast.
Any prognostication on Citeh vs Napoli tomorrow?
Looks good on paper but imo City are too strong because of their new signings. 3-1 Man Cini
Probably a little of both. They CAN just coast in LL though.

Not with Real losing only a handful of games a season.
I't's probably a combination, both are factors imo. I noticed too that lately, unless they're playing Madrid, they sort of seem complacent and don't always play with intensity and desperation. But they can get away with it. Other teams have to go out and give a great performance to win any trophy. Barca knows this game doesn't have huge implications, and at least throughout last year they really brought it for every huge important game I can remember.
They've obviously stepped it up for the last 2 return legs vs. Arsenal (lol 1st leg teaser, 2nd leg rape). They went through Real in the UEFACL semis and totally dominated ManU in the final. And obviously most of the other games vs. Madrid this past year went pretty well for Barca. Even in the Copa del Rey when they lost, they played the better game but lost due to dangerous counters off dumb mistakes.
I wonder if losing Sanchez and Iniesta will give them motivation to step it up from here on out.
Real Mad is going to curbstomp Barca if they don't wake the up. Pep must do something to light a fire in his players.
lol crying about Milan defending.
City 4-1
