I had the 07' GTI and it was a blast to drive...was great on gas mileage...and was very well put together...

I just thought the styling was too bland...needed character...

this Bug has character and you can get the same 2.0 Turbo engine as the GTI...so it is tempting...the styling will last and stay fresh for a lot longer than most "vanilla" cars...which is why it is intriguing...

it is not a bad "bang for the buck" car and I wouldn't give a if people thought they were gay...it wouldn't matter to me... just wanted to hear the general consensus...

The BMW 1 series is another smart buy...but I've kinda lost the "gotta have" this or that toy...

The Scirrocco that I have seen (Euro version) looks promising but for some reason VW will not bring it to the states.

I like it better than I thought I would, but I don't like it anywhere near as much as I like my Beetle (a 2000) and it won't be a temptation when it's time to get a new car. As far as cute little cars go, this one drops below both the Mini and the Fiat 500 for me in styling.

Agree with other posters, though. Ever since VW brought out new versions of the Beetle and Golf, I've been praying for them to revamp both the Thing and the Ghia.

A guy can own a mini coop as long as he also owns a truck or SUV. The mini can't be the primary vehicle.
