I'm pretty sure he knew what it meant. Just that Aggy would never take advantage of it, so it doesn't matter.
It's a classification for a conference. Some conferences are AQ conferences, some aren't.
Hope that helps.
I'm pretty sure he knew what it meant. Just that Aggy would never take advantage of it, so it doesn't matter.
I want to hear where Aggy thinks we are headed.
If you were to have kept up in these last few weeks, you wouldn't be lost out there with Aggy.
Once again pretty sad if you want to hear what "Aggy" thinks about where your school ends up.
Where do you think Tech will end up?
Well I can't sit around in my mom's basement all day like you reading up on all things college football and downloading gay porn.I actually have to go to work.
Not sad at all. I think Aggy's response will be funny.
Either Pac 16 or stay in Big 12 with UT and some added teamsWhere do you think Tech will end up?
Well that doesn't really excuse your ignorance on these subjects.Well I can't sit around in my mom's basement all day like you reading up on all things college football and downloading gay porn.I actually have to go to work.
Nobody is forcing you to look stupid when you post.
Coercing Aggy into saying something funny = sad. Aggy saying something funny without coercing is much funnier.
What if UT goes to the ACC and the Pac stops at adding OU ans OSU. Would Tech join the Mt West?
This coming from someone who wants to hear what Aggy thinks. IRONIC![]()
I'd like to know Aggy's thought process on why he feels sorry for Tech. Not many ways to get at that other than to ask.
I bet it's funny.
The odds of that particular scenario happening is so low that it can be easily dismissed. What if UT goes to the ACC and the Pac stops at adding OU ans OSU. Would Tech join the Mt West?
you don't know what irony means. This coming from someone who wants to hear what Aggy thinks. IRONIC![]()
I didn't even have to coerce you to look stupid here = funny.
But A&M has been in an AQ conference all along in which they had a better chance of AQing.
How many BCS bowls did they AQ for?
tekk could easily end up outside of a major conference, though I am not saying they will. I really do not know. I do know, however, that no AQ conference is falling all over themselves wanted to add them (tekk)... whereas, ou, osu, t.u. & A&M all seem to have greater range and flexibility.
Since this whole A&M departure thing started Sisk has made a major case to become the NCAA Forum's 90210. Every time he opens his mouth someone takes a in it.

not sure which thread to put this in but thought it was funny
George McFadden in Portland, Oregon asked: If the Big 12 unravels with the exit of Texas A&M why would Oklahoma and others want to join the Pac 12? Not that the Pac 12 is a bad conference but it is a long way from Norman to Seattle. If the realingment results in a Big 18 from the current Big 10 that would produce two 9-team divisions that would play an 8 game schedule to determine a champion to play in the conference championship. In addition each school would also play one interconference game as part of the non-division schedule televised on the Big 18 network.
DU: Here's what needs to happen:
The Big 12's members should disperse to their various new leagues. The Big Ten usurps the Big East to form the Big Eastern Ten.
Then the ACC and SEC merge to form a new league, and name the divisions "Basketball" and "Football." Kentucky, you know where you go.
Then, that new ACC-SEC hybrid merges with the Big Eastern Ten to form the first super duper conference that encompasses every single TV market in the midwest and eastern seaboard.
The Pac-16, unable to compete, tucks its tail between its legs, and merges with the Biggest Eastern Ten hybrid.
This league is now the BET-SEC-ACC-16.
Obviously, this is too bersome. They want to rename the leagues, but they can't focus solely on football, so they name it the National College Athletes of America
The tagline: Where champions play, because nobody else is around.
But this super duper conference (We'll call it, oh, I don't know, the NCAA) needs divisions, right? It should divide them up regionally, so it can keep a cap on outrageous travel costs and retain regional rivalries.
So, in one division, you could throw like, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, Michigan State, Wisconsin and the like. Probably like 10 or 11 teams.
In another, have like Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and some of the other southern schools. Throw like 12 teams in that division.
In another, put like UCLA, USC, the Oregon schools, the Arizona schools and the Washingtons and such.
There are too many east coast schools, so split them up into two divisions. One could have like Connecticut, Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia and those others further north. There's not as many, and they focus on hoops, so just put eight teams in that league.
Another could have Duke and UNC (gotta keep the rivalry, obviously), Miami, the Virginia schools and West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Florida State and the rest of them. Put 12 in there.
The last: Lump all the midwestern schools in another conference. Texas and Texas A&M (gotta keep that rivalry, too, of course. Been together for like a century), Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Colorado, Missouri and Kansas State for a 12-team league in the middle of the country.
I know it sounds really radical and maybe a little bit crazy, but I think it would work. I really do.
Let's do it. What do you think?
Looks like whatever is going to happen could all be going down monday.......
The Board of Regents for both Texas and Oklahoma will meet Monday afternoon to discuss conference realignment.
On Thursday, the OU Board of Regents released its agenda that included an item to consider “new athletic conference membership.” The board is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m., while UT’s board will meet at 4 p.m.
The first item on UT’s agenda, to be held in executive session if necessary, will involve “discussion and appropriate action regarding potential legal issues related to athletic conference membership and contracting.”

If OU and OSU bolt to the PAC and Texas doesn't want in on the deal then I would expect them to go Independent in football and join the ACC for all other sports.
This way they can keep their rivalry games with OU and A&M and turn the LHN into a success by scheduling a bunch of football games on it. Everything they have done seems like they were heading down this road eventually anyway. Of course keeping the BIG12 alive would be best for them but I could see this being their 2nd option.
Not sure where I saw it, but yeah another source was saying that a deal was in place for that to happen. (Texas Independent in football, ACC for other sports)
That would be a big 12 announcement, not a Texas/OU one.
My guess is OU BOR votes to leave an Texas BOR gives Powers the authority to act on realignment.
Makes the most since to me, especially since that's pretty much the only way too see the LHN flourish. The LHN was written with independence in mind. Then for the other sports they can pitch the ACC was the best choice because of academics for our student-athletes etc.
It's not as great as the big12 where they can tell everyone what to do, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing on their part also. Independent football with keeping natural rivals and whoever you please, get to show more games on the LHN, not just 1 or 2 regional games and then once Basketball and Baseball season rolls around you play NC, Duke, etc.
OU, OSU, A&M and Texas will all better themselves in the long run if this conference dissolves IMO. Not sure about the rest.
For individuals with an IQ below 75, it probably is.
Perhaps, but if Tech doesn't end up in a major conference the butthurt from Techies would be epic. Would make Aggy's butthurt insignificant in comparison.
Nah I'm pretty sure I had it spot one. Apparently you don't have to have a wide vocabulary to attend Tech, you are living proof.
But you did have to look up the word coerce before typing that response.
Found this to be interesting.
Syracuse and Pitt in Talks With A.C.C.
Syracuse University and the University of Pittsburgh, two bedrock members of the Big East Conference, are engaged in talks about joining the Atlantic Coast Conference, according to a person with direct knowledge of the talks.
No one from Pittsburgh, Syracuse or the A.C.C. denied the conversations were taking place. Officials from all three en ies declined to comment on the matter.
The person with knowledge of the talks declined to speculate on a timetable or the seriousness of the discussions. But in this delicate time for conferences and their futures, the discussions between the 12-team A.C.C. and two Big East members are significant.
The discussions show how the trend toward 16-team super conferences, which has concerned many college athletic officials, appears to be inching closer to reality. If Syracuse and Pittsburgh switch, the move will be difficult for the Big East to overcome.
Syracuse is a founding member, and Pittsburgh joined the league in 1982, three years after it formed.
The Pittsburgh chancellor, Mark Nordenberg, who is widely credited with saving the Big East after Boston College, Miami and Virginia Tech moved to the A.C.C. in the early 2000s, twice declined comment when reached at his home.
Syracuse Athletic Director Daryl Gross, when reached on his cellphone in Los Angeles, where the Orange will play Southern California on Saturday, also declined to comment. “I can’t comment on that,” Gross said. “Maybe that’s even too much to say.”
“We’ve been dealing with the fluidity of the conference landscape on multiple levels for a week,” said Amy Yakola, the A.C.C.’s associate commissioner for public relations and marketing, “and at this point we wouldn’t be able to comment on speculation.”
Big East Commissioner John Marinatto declined comment when reached on his cellphone.
Jim Boeheim, the longtime Syracuse basketball coach, said Friday night, “I wouldn’t be surprised by anything, but I don’t know anything right now.”

so you have an IQ of 75.
k, thanks for sharing.
plenty of based scenarios like the ones you keep posting would leave a number of schools with epic butthurt.Perhaps, but if Tech doesn't end up in a major conference the butthurt from Techies would be epic. Would make Aggy's butthurt insignificant in comparison.
then apparently thinking it's stupid to ask people to elaborate on their statements is more of an Ohio thing.Nah I'm pretty sure I had it spot one. Apparently you don't have to have a wide vocabulary to attend Tech, you are living proof.
That might explain why Ohio St had to fire Tressel.
No, I learned that word long ago.But you did have to look up the word coerce before typing that response.
I could see how someone with a 75 IQ would be proud of themselves for using a word like "coerce" though.
source?
The Big 12 can keep 5 teams for 2 years and keep all the TV money and AQ status.
No desire by Tech, Baylor, Kansas, KSt, or Iowa St for the conference to dissolve. No rush for UT to go independent.
If the Big XII can get back up to 10 teams after two years, especially if BYU joins, I think UT is enough of a presence for the conference to retain AQ status.
If OU leaves, Texas is gone IMO. They aren't going to stick around without OU and A&M in the conference.
blake is grasping at straws... he's desperate. his theme, for quite some time, is to put 'inflated sense of self worth' Aggie fan in his place. all the while, pretending tekk is even in the same breadth.
...oh the irony. tekk is meaningless, A&M is not. the current situation proves this many times over. he's like an infant, only annoying if you pay him mind. move along.
