I think the nail is in the coffin for the ACC, the new rumor is that Texas and Notre Dame will join the ACC in all sports but football and then both will be football independents.

If this rumor were true.

That would mean about 4 games a year on the LHN for Texas. BYU and Notre Dame will become our only real out of state fixtures unless we decide to play Army/Navy. Pretty sure we can play the old SWC schools like TCU, Baylor, and Rice. Maybe UTSA and Texas state. We will probably also play a bunch of ACC schools in order to develop relationships with them. FSU and VT to help our Strength of schedule.

No telling what is going to happen with the Oklahoma schools or the other Big 12 schools or even Tech for that matter.

Pretty sure Texas will not be playing a$m for many many years.


On a personal note, I am thinking this is a stupid rumor but it is very feasible, I'm at the point now where I'd rather us just follow the aggsy to the SEC. I'm pretty sure we can make the LHN workout with them since they have other schools who have contracts for tier 3 rights with other networks.

I wouldn't necessarily say joining the PAC and dissolving the LHN into a PAC regional network winning. They will be fine there no doubt, but it definitely isn't their first couple options going through this. The powers of Texas must not know how to handle the current situation, they have gotten whatever they want for so long now.

Rolling the LHN into the PAC regional networks isn't losing, we still have the LHN and we will get it into homes in California Arizona Oklahoma Utah Oregon Washington Nevada New Mexico and Texas. We will share the money from this with the rest of the conference but the Texas brand will grow and so will our power and now we get to sell West coast recruits on the idea of playing for Texas in the Pac. The union of Texas and California recruiting will make Texas very very strong.

I dont think time zones will play as much of a factor as people keep saying. The Pac will work with OU and UT to help prevent alot of that.

They might have to play 1 or 2 a season but that's it. Other sports besides football could be worse off regarding it though.
