How many Olympic gold medals did the Greek-American win?
No. Just going by the boxscore.
If the guy in front of your torched your ass, then there's something going on there.
That said, Navarro must've played out of his mind if he was the tourney MVP
How many Olympic gold medals did the Greek-American win?
Navarro was the Spain's SG and was defended by Batum.
TP's matchup was Calderon.
Navarro was outstanding the in elimination phase. 26, 35, 27 points in the last three games, that's a lot in Fiba compe ions and for a team as deep as Spain.
Is Juan Carlos Navarro (along with Ray Allen and Dirk) one of the best pure shooters in the world? I would love to have on the Spurs backing up Manu and Tony. Anybody know his contract his situation?
Calderon was on the court for 24 mins but considering TP played 39 mins he probably ended up defending more than just Calderon. Anyway both of those players put up pretty good boxscores: Calderon was 7-9 from the field for 17 pts, 4 steals, 1 turnover, 2 assists...and Navarro was the friggin MVP.
Navarro isn't interested in going back to the NBA. Forget it.
Navarro is the SG. Not the PG. he hasn't played one minute at the PG position
When Calderon was out, Ricky Rubio played against TP and was completely trash.
Anyway keep hating on TP without even watching the game. Nothing new here.
I've been on ST for 6 years and there is a little advice:
Don't waste your time arguing with these blind Parker haters.
Whatever you can say, it won't change their mind and they will continue to trash Parker. In this case, everyone that has looked at his whole summer with FNT knows how good he has been this year and they come looking at a boxscore to trash him. That's laughable, so just laugh at them.
Calderon's minutes + Rubio's = 31. Parker played a total of 39 mins. I never said he defended the MVP but he definitely defended more than just those guys and Calderon still put up great numbers. Rubio's definitely been sucking ass though.
With pleasure. Dude's been a pretty big disappointment for the past two years now but I don't think anyone predicted them to have a shot at Spain anyway.Anyway keep hating on TP without even watching the game. Nothing new here.
Did you watch the game?
Thanks. Didn't know who played point. I'll try to watch the game when I have some time.
It's obvious that Spain was going in as the more solid team, and that France had a great tournament and looking for the upset. There's no shame in losing to Spain, so not sure where theis coming from.
It's actually hilarious after many years to see frenchies goingwhenever anybody even suggests some sort of critique towards Tony.
Not much different than the CoM of yesteryear, tbh
Why can't we all get along and just bash the greek?![]()
Greece
Italy
1. Hakeem, Ewing and Wilkins were the only players that had an impact on the national team.
2. Seikaly sucked
3. All of Europe sucked until 2000, college players could win it.
4. Greece used 3 foreign players at the same time and probably started them.
5. You're admitting Greece used foreign help and Peja is not Greek by using that argument.
Sada is Spain's third pg.
It's actually hilarious to bash just on based on boxscore and to pick up the stat lines of a player that not has been defended at all by TP (see Cane).
Point is TP has been playing great during the whole compe ion, period. The CoM has no more work on ST as finally the Ginobili haters are quite which is great because Manu is one of a kind.
I take back the "not the best PG in the game" then. I thought Navarro did PG duties, not Calderon. I still need to watch the game, although I hate watching the Spanish NT. They're good players and play well, but there's also an air of en lement to some of them that I have a hard time putting up with.
Wasn't Navarro going against De Colo for most of the game? Not exactly a world-class defender.
How was De Colo in this tournament? I only watched part of the game against Italy and he didn't play much IIRC.
I don't know
He had some good games, including dominating Greece, but was terrible in the final. Not that dominating Greece is all that hard to do...
Nando has been misused by the coach for the biggest part of the summer. His task was to be spot up shooter while he has never been that kind of player. What is even worse is that he has been in a shooting slump for a year. It was a recipe for failure.
In the middle of the Eurobasket, FNT backup PGs (Albicy and Tchicamboud) sucked and Gelabale sprained his ankle. These events have allowed Nando to play more and more his natural role (in the Ginobili mold). Results have been mostly positives with some good or great games against Lithuania, Greece and Russia.
For next year, Collet should rebuid Cholet backcourt with Nando and Beaubois.
First unit: Parker, Gelabale, Batum, Diaw, Noah.
Second unit: De Colo, Beaubois, Mike Pietrus, Florent Pietrus, Turiaf.
Utility players: Bokolo and Traoré.

I did "bash" Parker's turnovers/assists but I also made note of a similar weakness that his Spurs team had as well - both frontcourts got manhandled. Was that too much?
You'd also be wrong about the statline; the stats I put up was by a player that TP defended and he still had a relatively impressive statline nonetheless - Mr. Jose Calderon.
But its not like Tony Parker was ever known for his defense anyway.
