I have him on some of my fantasy football teams and I really wanted to see him against the Lions, this ing sucks
How much worse can it get for the Saints!
FOXSports.com has learned that the initial test on Pro Bowl RB Deuce McAllister has shown a torn ACL, meaning McAlister will miss the rest of this season.
McAllister limped off the field with approximately seven minutes remaining in the third quarter of Sunday's horrific 52-3 loss to Green Bay after twisting his right knee at the end of a screen pass. Initial x-rays were negative but the team didn't make a final prognosis until further examination today.
The Saints will get McAllister a second opinion before deciding on definitive season-ending surgery but all indications are that the injury will need to be repaired surgically.
The Saints have endured one of the most painful seasons in league history. Their organization has been reduced to a constant traveling team without a true home stadium due to Hurricane Katrina. Their performance has been greatly affected by the tragedy, and the loss of their best player certainly cannot help measures.
McAllister has rushed for 1,000 yards or more in each of the last three seasons, and had 1,641 rushing yards in 2003. Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker are listed behind McAllister on the Saints' depth chart at running back. Smith had 12 carries for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.

Update: It has been confirmed that McAllister has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, according to ESPN's John Clayton.
Recommendation: Look for Antowain Smith to see the bulk of the carries in his absence with Aaron Stecker also in the mix as a change of pace back.
I don't know how little of hope the Saints had for this season, but to lose their playmaker will absolutely destroy the moral of this team.. Brooks play has been horrible, did yo see him laughing after his pick was returned for a TD! They have been without Horn the last two weeks, and just got blown out by a winless team.. wow! I think Haslett will be out pretty soon, when it rains it pours.
Antowain Smith will be the starting RB now. He is no Deuce McAllister.
lol, now I get it....
Good thing I didn't trade for him in the fantasy league.
I have Deuce in 4 leaguesthe only thing positive coming out of the situtaion as for fantasy aspect is that I got to pick up Antowain Smith in my 20 team league. I only had 2 starting RBs now I have 3 which will help me more even though i'm in 2nd or 3rd.
