When has Walt ever been "nice"? I've never seen that. He's been everything from frightened to whining to arrogant to lying to manipulating, but I've never seen a nice version of Walter White.
Hey we all have our faults. I wouldn't call myself that nice either. But I'm not evil. That's how I feel about Walt. Making him a monster in the final season is an injustice to his character. I do expect it to happen but I don't have to agree with the decision of Vince Gilligan to do that. Imo he broke bad in episode 1. Breaking evil is another story though.

I don't think it was a coincidence. I think the implication here is that the cigarette was taken from Jesse during the pat down in his lawyer's office per Walt's instruction.

One thing I was wondering about, walt somehow gave brock the poisonous berries - but how? He visited that one night while jesse was there, but never went in the house. Did he come back the next day and say "hey kid, try these great berries"?
He never did that.
Tyrus was using an electronic wand to sweep for bugs, not doing any kind of visual search around/under items. I'm sure he ran the wand around the chair, and it came up clean for bugs. If that's what he's looking for, he's not going to get down and look underneath. That's the problem with hired muscle: it's usually all you get. If you tell him to sweep the room for bugs, he isn't going to check it for pipe bombs.
Saul was complicit in the plot, having his man put the pack of cigs on Jesse. Saul also knows where Brock's family lives, stopping by to give Jesse his money or something once. He could have easily rigged some sort of yummy treat and left it in reach of the kid.
That's a pretty eerie foreshadowing.
I read that if you take all of the episodes where that stuff was floating in Walter's pool in season two, what turned out to the debris from the mid air collision, there is a message there. I haven't checked it out, though, to see if all of these meet the criteria or if any not listed here do.

Didn't think about Saul's interaction stretching that far, but that makes a lotta sense.
Saul was pretty terrified after calling in the tip for Walt that sent Hank into protective custody. I think Walt would have had no problem selling him on this.
yeah, you're right, I forgot Tyrus just ran a wand around Hector in the wheelchair.
and about the ing of some food or drink in Brock's house, I did think of that, but then I wondered that there was no way to be sure brock got it and not the mom. But either one getting poisoned would have gotten the same result probably.

Great finale. Next season we should see why the cartels didn't want to kill Gus themselves. Prepare for some crazy Germans or Chileans to clean up the Heisenberg mess with the DEA not too far behind.

i think they have been pretty consistently doing deep foreshadowing since the start. I don't have a link to the first ep anymore, it got taken down
