Croshere leaves Pacers' win with injury

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Al Harrington had 18 points and seven rebounds, but the Indiana Pacers lost another player to an injury in a 96-82 preseason win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
Pacers forward Austin Croshere left in the second quarter with a pulled left hamstring and did not return.
The injury-prone Croshere pulled up limping with just under 10 minutes to play in the quarter. He missed 33 games last season with a broken foot.
Croshere joined a growing list of injured Pacers, including point guards Kenny Anderson (hamstring) and Anthony Johnson (broken finger).
Rick Carlisle got the win in his debut as Pacers coach after being fired by Detroit. New Pacers president Larry Bird hired his old buddy in September to replace Isiah Thomas.
Ron Artest drew a technical foul in the third quarter after being called for an offensive foul and faking like he was going to toss the ball at referee Scott Foster.
Artest was suspended for 12 games last season for bad behavior or flagrant fouls. Before the game, Carlisle said he wiped the slate clean with Artest when he came to Indiana and thought Artest "probably has been unfairly maligned. His reputation is something he's going to have to shed."
In the game, the Bulls (0-1) led by as many as 12 in the first half, but faded in the second.
The Pacers (1-0) took control in the third quarter, getting their first lead of the game, 49-48, when Jermaine O'Neal scored on a finger roll with just over 11 minutes to play in the third.
O'Neal had 16 points and eight rebounds.
Jamal Crawford led the Bulls with 14 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Yeah, he only played four minutes the whole game. One time he jumped for a loose ball under the basket and fell into the crowd.
As for Artest's foul...it was kind of "ticky tack". But they gave it to him. He played the rest of the 3rd and most of the 4th quarter with no other outbursts.
i'm very impressed with ron artest. Last season when he got a tech or flagrant he would be all strung out and started playing bad. After his tech he settled himself down, took a deep breath and got back in the team huddle ready to play and as you said he went back out the 2nd half playing well.
I think what allowed Artest to keep his focus was that we now have a coach who isn't afraid to get into a players face and yank him when he screws up. I think Artest learned that first hand last night.
