    Here ya go...

    http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/20/politi...html?hpt=hp_t1

Washington (CNN) -- Members of the "super committee" charged with coming up with $1.2 trillion in budget cuts are focused on how to announce failure to reach a deal, Democratic and Republican aides confirmed to CNN Sunday.
While aides said no final decision had been made, they acknowledged that -- barring an unforeseen development -- an announcement of an end to negotiations is the most likely scenario.
Talks on trying to reach a deficit reduction agreement are essentially over and discussions are focused on a Monday announcement, a senior Democratic aide said.
Another senior Democratic source said, "No decisions or agreement has been reached concerning any announcement or how this will end. But, yes, the likely outcome is no agreement will be reached." A Republican aide said, "I don't think they've decided when they will do it."

Now watch the threatened "automatic cuts across the board" evaporate, esp cuts for the MIC which the Repugs were already planning to exempt.

    What a ing charade.

The bully Grover Norquist is this generation's Senator Joe McCarthy. The anti-tax-raise pledge-signing Repugs are a bunch of balless assholes.

Norquist, Limbaugh, Ailes(Murdoch) dictate thoughts to the Repugs.

Obama has the hammer now, and has already said that without a SC deal, any bill that comes to his desk without the agreed upon automatic cuts will be vetoed.

Doing nothing (i.e, triggered cuts plus letting the Bush tax cuts lapse) would be one of the better outcomes IMHO.

I agree with WH. I prefer this to bull cuts. I'd love to see the military take huge cuts, to be quite frank.

I'd love to see ing Americans grow a pair and vote out their Congressional representatives next year, instead of just complaining about how ineffective Congress is as a body.

    +1.

Amazing how an 8% approval rating for Congress really means "Well, my guy is part of the 8% I like!"

Look around you. Who the are we going to vote in? Just more heads from the same two parties .

What happened last year with all the in bents losing? Did things change?

Once you saw who it was the GOP put on the panel compared to their actual member body, it was obvious what was going to go on.

This committee isn't getting it done. The Dodd-Frank committee is not getting it done. This legislative body is completely ineffective because of the influence of two party politics.

I get everytime i say that we need to revisit the structure of our government but I say people need to wake the up and look around.

I agree with you, but how do we make that happen?

Protest? Camp out in the streets all across America for weeks at a time in massive numbers? Think that would get their attention?

    ......
The Tea Party got the Congress to put forward the asinine balanced budget amendment.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Cons ution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Cons ution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.
Its going to have to get worse before it gets better going that route. Obviously it takes a large consensus but what is certainly heartening is that more and more people every day are coming around to the idea that some profound changes need to be made.

I want to see one of two things personally. A corporation amendment stating that firms are not people, person or persons and that their campaign finance contributions are not speech.

The apportionment of house representatives to single member districts is dictated by the state legislatures.

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing [sic] Senators.
This means that a state can say we no longer want to use districts and use a parliamentary approach. Thats what would be a lot easier. The board 'conservatives' always talk about states rights well there you go. Our states get to decide how we elect.

Congress can legislate stating that you have to have districts but its not in the cons ution. If nothing else its an avenue to pursue rather then just accepting the status quo and hoping that a miracle is going to come and fix this cluster .

Just one state needs to step up and force the issue rather then get over 300 reps to not vote the party line. The parties will fight giving up power.

Go stick your blue pom poms up your ass.

The two are inseparable. That you think parties and PACs are two independent en ies just goes to show how little you understand. That's why i address both in what i say i would like to see.

You said they are inseparable not me.

The money bags UCA and capitalists OWN (enough of) both parties at all levels. How do you interpret that as inseparable? UCA needs legislators to execute UCA's commands, legislators need UCA's money to stay elected. inseparable? GFY it's a symbiosis.

Let's say you're right and americans voted out the current seats. We'd have a democrat controlled house and a republican senate.

No matter who gets kicked out or voted in, they will by necessity be corrupted by corporate money, sooner or later. It's about the only way they can stay there. Take our money or we'llgive it to you next opponent. Even if some Elizabeth Warrens got elected, there would more more of the conventional corrupted/corruptible types elected who would fall prey to money.

The system is fundamentally broken, owned by VRWC/UCA, and it's irretrievable. And that's just the legislative and exec, look at SCOTUS and the 100s of conservative judges the VRWC has been polluting the judicial system with for 30+ years.

Massive overhaul won't happen overnight, short of a coup by the people. I think a major rejection of in bents is a good "1st step" - it sends the message "we're tired of doing things the old way."

When that inevitably fails and these yahoo's revert to their old ways, then you go ahead and stage that coup lol.
