no reply. sup lngrrr? thought that didn't happen? if i had thought about it i'd have snuck a pic..although that would look pretty weird.
Awwe. Your thread ain't getting no love?
They're not supposed to wear their uniform in political rallies. They're not supposed to wear their work uniform at things that wouldn't be acceptable for comparable work uniforms (ie, they can go to McDonald's, but not a nice restaurant.)
You can wear your dress uniform to pretty much anything, except for political rallies or other events whereby wearing the uniform would imply that you are acting in your capacity to represent an official government stance.
What about the strip club? Which uniform is appropriate then?
Civvies, I would think
Unless you're a female on the pole... in that case, a ripped work tshirt, a BDU cap, and some cutoff BDU pants might work...
There is nothing wrong with soldiers doing things in uniforms. Since they are on duty all the time, they have to be in uniform in duty hours. Even if they are doing errands like buying a house, registering their car, etc. Furthermore they are authorized to go shopping and things of that nature before and after work if they are heading to and from home. Also most PT programs are from 630 to 730 or 800. Then you get an hour and a half to , shower, shave and eat. So 900 they were probably eating breakfast before work, which first formation is usually 930.
AR 670-1 is the regulation for all this.
*Lngrrr is in the Air Force and has different regulations for uniform.
Anywhere with alcohol-Class A's or civvies. For a strip club, a smart soldier will wear sweatpants or slacks.
they do more before 9am than you do all day...
I was one of the people who said this...
First of all...it is pretty in' lame to wear your uniform out in public...unless you are such a in loser that...
A) you cannot afford civilian clothes...
B) you actually want to identify yourself as a military employee --because you have never done anything else in your loser life and want to identify yourself with something because...again...you are a in' loser...
C) you are an actor playin' a military soldier in a movie...and the director said..."take 5"...and you have no real knowledge of military rules...so you are wandering around like a moron in a military uniform...
D) you are not even in the military...and are such a loser...that you actually acquired military clothing and wear it around just because you are a stupid,re ed loser...
E) All of the above....
I will repeat....
The ONLY reason to EVER wear your military uniform out in public...is....
A) You were ordered by your superior officer....and you are on official military duty.
B) The USA has been attacked and is under duress and you are actually fighting and killing the perpetrators who happen to already be marching down anytown USA...and you actually gave a and donned your uniform...grabbed weapons and started doing your in' job.
You're welcome.
I personally hate wearing my ACU's. But with my supervisors Type X management style, mixed with the military idea that the mission always comes before the soldier, I am not going to change out of my uniform to do things like go to lunch, go to the dentist/doctor, take my truck to get serviced, etc. If someone has a problem with it, they can come up to me and tell me at which point i will ask them what is behind them and then cup check them.
Or reason C... your wife called and asked you to pick up some milk from the store. Or you need gas. Or you need to pick up your kid from dayschool. Or any number of thousands of other little errands for which it would be asinine to drive home and change for.
