    CHICAGO (AP) -- Guard Jermaine Jackson was waived by the Bulls on Tuesday, two weeks after he was acquired from the New York Knicks.

    Jackson averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in two preseason games. The cut leaves Chicago with 16 players.

    In 21 games with New York last season, Jackson averaged 2.0 points and 1.1 assists. He was sent to the Bulls with Michael Sweetney and Tim Thomas for Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis.
