Big gamble on Cuban's part.
They're playing some pretty uninspired ball because Cuban punted on defending the le, they got the best Eastern teams for tv purposes, and they're one of the older teams in the league in a very compressed schedule. I think they'll make the playoffs, but a key injury might torpedo that. In an 82 game season they'd have time to get it together, but their margin of error is so small right now.

Yeah mavs are definitely making the playoffs...the west is painfully mediocre this year, with no dominant teams.

As far as Vince Carter's concerned, this guy's been a disappointment his entire career imo. I know some people are in love with the guy, but he just never became the superstar he was supposed to be. After his breakout year in 1999-2000--when he hit all those game winners and won the dunk contest--he improved the following year but then never got any better after that...seriously, he never evolved after 2001-2002.
The guy plays with intensity and goes long stretches without ever driving the ball. I remember countless games when he was in NJ where he would do nothing but launch 3-bombs off-balance. He had Kobe skills but Vin Baker intensity.
I never said he was. I was calling other Mavs fans re ed last season for saying they wouldn't do a big trade if Roddy was involved.
