Love everything about Leonard.
"advanced metrics"
Love everything about Leonard.
Tony's decline is almost proving that the Grizzlies series wasn't a fluke for him. The good thing is that his passing is better now but the Spurs don't need to be paying the money they are paying him for him to be mediocre.
Well, we get a day off before going to Milwaukee, good thing because we need it.
Horror schedule for next fortnight though - only 4 days off, 8 games in 13 days, 4 away, 3 b2bs. Ouch.
oh and@everybody trying to argue with dpg when he is certain to be right... you loose before even starting
Spurs affiliated people are everywhere.
double-double for leonard
13 and 10
Holy . With only 3 big who can play on b2b, where one suck badly, Spurs are in deep .
at least we look less ridiculous than the mavs against us
FYI, Tim's PER has dropped off 34% in the past two years. Just an FYI. Do with that advanced metric what you will.
Jag, I know you aren't an idiot and only a partial troll. Please don't be obtuse. By all accounts how you want to look at it, Tim declined but by no means can you call it severe last year.
If you want to be a dummy like Koolaid man and site "13 & 9" without going into any deeper, fine, but please don't act like them about it.
TP had the highest PER of his career... but the OTHER metrics show he's declining (physically?). Then he showed out Kobe-prime style this summer.
I can see where you'd arrive at your conclusions.
edit* fourth highest PER of career. Highest since 08-09
TP only 4 points? wow... didn't even notice when I was watching the game... I guess I'm getting used to the disappearing act...
Really? ducks isn't, but a few people are. He's got to slow down soon (I agree with you on that), so depending on how we're going at the trade deadline, trading TP around the deadline or in the offseason might turn into a good idea. I think we have to do everything possible to help Timmy in his final season, but we also need to begin rebuilding ASAP.
Time we face the fact that Timmy will retire after this season and we need a full rebuild. We have the role players, now we need to find two potential star players... how we do that is in question, but trading Manu/TP can't be ruled out.
Timvp is going to school the out of you although it will really just be the same stuff I've said to you.
FYI, Tim's PER last year was still elite at 21.9. By now accounts can you call that "wheel's falling off" territory even if it's below his career PER of 24.8. To put that in context for you, last year was 14th in the league in PER. 14th. Wheels almost off brah. Ignore that if you must.
Any chance of getting Deron Williams on FA
BTW, people who mock advanced metrics are kidding themselves. They are an excellent tool.
The Polish Hammer is mashing the Bucks, and Nash is working on 15asts middle of the 3rd.
I'm not saying he's declined. I was randomly scoffed for saying as of right now it appears that he might have, even though it's too early too tell. I was told that unless you can conclusively prove something, it's pointless to say it. I was also told that it was way too early too tell anything significant.
That person then said something significant, even though no time had passed.
Tony parker is still solid....by the way this is a b2b game....and no manu.....spurs will bounce back on track....
Good thing I didn't say his wheels fell off last year. Perhaps if you looked up the word "trend" after you looked up the word "may" you would understand a bit more.
It's not just TP's PER. It's common for guards that are athletic to have their overall FG% drop drastically along with their ability to finish around the rim. Much like FG% and REB RATE indicate when a big man may be declining, TP's numbers at this stage correlate highly with someone who's declined athletically.
There's no reason why anyone with half a brain would start comparing the decline of TP and Duncan. There's no reason to even go into the discussion of the similarities of their respective "declines". From the difference in their ages, to the difference in the injuries they're sustained over their careers, to the difference in the positions they play, it's stupid to compare their "declines".
Now you're just lying. I guess thats the step you have to take when you're unable to just admit you are wrong. Feel free to provide a link to where anyone told you that it was pointless to say something.
But you did say 9 games into the season that a guy who wasn't anywhere close to having the wheels fall off last year appears to have fallen off 9 games into the season after saying it's too early to tell anything significant like that just yesterday. That is why I laughed.
