    Some might hate it but, if UT & USC win out til Jan 4th they will be #s 1 & 2.

    As I said, just feel too strongly that VaTech will lose a game or not win convincingly enough. Ga/Ala/LSU should all have a legit shot @ winning the SEC but not climb into #1 or #2 w/o UT or USC losing.

    i agree. obviously, either sc or ucla will have one loss after dec. 3rd. alabama is having a hard time without tyrone prothro. georgia could lose to florida without shockley this week. va tech has a hard road to pasadena.

    Doesn't matter who is #1 and who is #2. I don't see either of these teams losing, and they are clearly the top 2 teams in the nation. VT, UGA, and Bama might have arguments come the end of the season - but USC and UT look to be in a class of their own, although USC is riding their history. I'd probably agree Texas is the best team in the nation right now, though it pains me to say it.

    Thanks man that's all I wanted to hear.

    Cuz I'm one of the biggest skeptics and pessimists I know...but after the last two college football weekends, I have to say I'm very confident about a possible USC game.

    But...what if USC is really so bad ass that they're making their games seem close, just to fool Texas? What if Leinart fumbled on purpose?
    Reggie Bush seems to defy reality with some of the he pulls off.


    This will be an excellent college football season overall, when it's all said and done.

    Shoot, I'm not even convinced USC will go undefeated. UCLA has a lot to prove this year, and beating USC is their #1 goal.

    When Virginia Tech beats Boston College this week, and then wins the ACC championship game, they will bump USC to the 3 spot and that would mean that USC would be on the outside looking in in the Nat Championship game. If that does not give rise to a playoff system, nothing will. I hope that happens, because the BCS would explode.

    IF VTech gets by both Miami and BC, and IF USC can get by Cal, Fresno, and UCLA, Texas may be on the outside looking in. A lot will also depend on how each of the respective teams' opponents do, too. My gut feeling is that VTech and USC will each lose one before the end of the regular season.

    Texas has a weak remaining schedule and both USC and VT still have big games left...If USC wins out as well I don't see Texas staying on top for long...In fact I would much rather they go into the le game #2...
