In case you haven't noticed, no one has said the Spurs will win this year; they're saying they can make it out of the West. Spurs would need to pull off some trades to make that leap.

Brent barry was a scrub for the spurs. He had a couple of shining moments against the lakers when ginobili was playing injured back in '08. I didn't realize the emotional distress losing to the spurs caused your fanbase. Maybe things would have been different if they didn't spend the entire series complaining to the refs.

Only blind homers did. Spurs more than likely were gonna lose in the 2nd round or WCF, even with a healthy Manu. Didn't expect 8 tho, but when they got the Grizz in the first round, I was worried as .

The Mavs don't rely on players with brittle, calcium starved bones.

In 2009, Manu missed the playoffs completely.
In 2010, he ed up his nose and killed his endurance/lung capacity.
In 2011, he broke his arm and missed an important game.

When it happens 3 years in a row, it's goes from being a legitimate excuse to a problem. The Spurs relying on Ginobili to be healthy for the playoffs is their own fault.

Mavs caught fire in the playoffs, no denying that. However, they were playing the best ball out of any team in the regular season before Caron and Dirk went down. Luckily, they were able to get their flow back just in time tbh.

With the West as ty as it is this year, Spurs do have a chance. I just don't think that their style will work come playoff time.

Average defensive teams that try to outscore the other team with a PG-oriented offense never do well in the playoffs, the Spurs being a classy franchise with classy fans isn't gonna change that.

tbh, the Spurs are currently winning and only shooting 38% from 3 point land... quite different from last season.
