Romo or Peyton Manning? Tough choice...
I don't think acquiring Manning is the move Houston is going to make this offseason. They already have a solid starter in Matt Schaub and a up-n-comer in TJ Yates. I think if Schaub was healthy, they could have beaten the Ravens in their divisonal match-up. When Schaub is healthy he is actually a good quarterback. I'm not sure if gambling on Manning, who might not even be able to play, is worth the risk. Manning, at most, will prob have about 3 seasons left of play if he were able to.
Romo or Peyton Manning? Tough choice...
Manning should look into the Cardinals. They finished 8-8 with a concussed and inexperienced Kolb and Skelton combination, losing 5/8 of their games by one score or fewer to some really good teams (Giants, Ravens, Bengals).
Cardinals will have Fitz, Well for a balanced offense, they have a young and aggressive defense and have proven their foundation is in place to be a QB away from legitimate contention.
Houston makes sense for Manning as well, as do the Jets. Teams like the Redskins, Dolphins, etc. don't for lack of talent and teams like the Niners have a solid option already in place.
In the 4th quarter? It might be a tougher choice that it seems at first glance
I would take Peyton Manning, left-handed, over Tony Romo.
When you single-handedly bring your team back from a 24-point lead (in your 6th year as a starter, no less), sooner or later people are going to have to realize that it's never going to work out for you
btw I think Romo is a good guy and has improved his game, but if you have a chance to team Peyton with weapons like Witten, Bryant, Austin, Robinson, Jones, and Murray--you don't pass on it. That offense would be disgusting and would mask bad defense like Brady was able to do this year.
Yeah, but we aren't really talking prime Romo vs prime Manning are we?
One more shot to that giraffe neck and Manning might die....and I'm pretty sure he is aware of that.
This is true, but I'd still take the gamble over the sitcom rerun.
Is Manning going to go in Favre mode to get the chance to get back at the Colts twice a year?
Top 2, imo
Reggie Wayne a Patriot next season
um peyton manning would die playing behind the offensive line of the cowboys...brady would as well. Aaron Rodgers is probably the only person capable playing behind this line because he is mobile.
but what's the point of spending money on peyton manning when our defense continues to choke at the end of the year. QB is the least of the cowboys concerns.
Have you paid any kind of attention to how bad Indy's line has been?
tbh k4mv, i tried as hard as i could to look for a flaw in his post to join the gangbang, but i have to agree with 'Hiro.
now what to do with this boner
Like dirk4 just said, have you not seen Indy's line over the years? Peyton's got a quick release and either him or Brady would win no less than 12 games every year with those Cowboys weapons.
It really is amazing to see the lengths some Cowboys fans go to defend RomoIt must be all those teary-eyed press conferences where he says like "we got a lot of heart in that locker room, and we'll fight back.
"
Another one of my favorite Cowboys company lines is "QB is the least of our concern." Do you really expect Jerry Jones to fix the defense (especially secondary) when he's shown absolutely no ability to do so?
Look what Brady, Rodgers, and Peyton do. They take bad defensive teams and turn them into contenders with their greatness. Romo can't do that and never ing will, so if you have a chance to grab a GOAT QB, you do it.
Unless you want more of this, of course...
Not a huge Romo fan, tbh, though I know, just like DD has GOT to know that he is not our problem. Our problem is our secondary and O-Line, not to mention needing more than one pass rusher, but Peyton now has bone spurs where he had his surgery, and will more than likely need another surgery even if he DOES return. I think he's done, tbh. He'll probably try to make a comeback, and may even have a decent season, but I think, for his future, he should just retire.
Maybe he won't...and I bet THAT'S Romo's fault too, huh? Though I do hear he's looking at Finnegan and Stanford Routt, not to mention most likely taking a S or DB in the first round this year.
Look bro, I know Tony is your wet dream of a QB with all his emotion, heroic speak, and playing through injuries "grit," but it might be time to take the Romo fathead off the bedroom wall and get behind a QB who can actually take you somewhere.
If Peyton is healthy, you take him. If not then yeah, stick with Vinny Testaverde.
Not listening. Like I said...not a big Romo fan. As a matter of fact, when he overthrew Austin against the Giants and smiled about it, I was ready to bench his ass. But the truth is, stat-wise, there's very few QBs better than him, and it's not his fault. This team doesn't know how to coach players up...it's a horrible thing to deal with as a fan, but it's a fact. Peyton will never be Peyton again, therefore, I wouldn't do it. Just a personal opinion.
Cowboys are an above average team. With Manning, they are basically the Falcons
6, going on 7 years. 3 different HC's, a slew of other positional coaches, different personnel on offense and defense, and still no success.
Same Quarterback, though.
You better pray that the Seahawks or Cardinals don't land Manning. The 49ers will be ed.
