They should trade him to New Orleans to see how fragile his mind really is.

In hindsight, i'm very much happy to have the TPE, his salary off the books, and a first round pick as a opposed to this dude mailing it in and/or not playing drama queen bull , tbh.
You forget the 2 3's in Florida for 15.

    In hindsight you're forgiven.

Dallas Mavericks Assign Lamar Odom to NBA D-League Affiliate Texas Legends

NEW YORK, March 2, 2012 – The Dallas Mavericks today assigned forward Lamar Odom to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment marks the 41st time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the first assignment for Odom in his 13-year career.

Odom (6-10, 230, Rhode Island) has appeared in 32 games, four starts, for the Mavericks this season, averaging 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 21.4 minutes. He has missed the team’s last three games due to personal reasons.

The 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Odom was traded to the Mavericks from the Lakers prior to the start of the 2011-12 NBA season. He has appeared in 861 NBA games, averaging 14.4 points and 8.7 rebounds for his career. A two-time NBA Champion with the Lakers (2009, 2010), Odom played with the USA National Team in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Originally selected with the fourth overall selection of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, Odom was selected to the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team in 2000 and played in the NBA Rookie Challenge that same year.

Mavericks fans can stay in step with Odom, who is expected to join the Legends today and be available when the team hosts the Austin Toros tomorrow at the Dr. Pepper Arena by logging onto nba.com/futurecast to watch all of Texas’ games live, online, for free.

I thought only rooks and sophs were allowed to play in the d-league. How can the Mavs assign him there and he is allowed to play?

The rules have changed. Odom had to agree to it. Yi did a rehab stint there earlier this season.

First through third year players can be assigned otherwise.

I'd say keep him on the D-League for the rest of the season. Teach him a lesson.

him. It wouldn't be fair to the real D-leaguers who go out and give a every night for someone to have to sit the bench so that overpaid momma's boy can play.

The Mavs org. should not have lied. They said Odom left the team for personal reasons due to illness in his family. Now Carlisle humilates him in the press this evening.

    Can't have it both ways.

White quits for 4 games because he's sick of basketball and it's fine.

Black quits for 4 games because of illness in his family and he's high tech lynched.

    tee, hee.

What lesson is that? That he is a little ? I think the man realized that when he said "I do" in his wedding vows. You got to be a special to cave in to the Kardashian Sasquatch.

Seriously, people wonder why there's so much imbalance in the league. When players would rather quit than play outside of LA, NY or Boston (Miami as well now), it's never going to get better.

For the money, I say it is, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It is what it is, but all the banter about changing it is just smoke and mirrors.

You give a rookie a few million dollars, a 90 million dollar shoe contract and whatever else and suddenly he's the one calling the shots. They want to buddy up with their crew ( ing Olympics and FIBA games) and basically take a huge on the league. It's not new, not at all, but it's always going to keep the NBA eons behind the NFL. Damn near any team can win in the NFL, but not in the NBA. The NBA is too much about a dominant presence that remains that way for half a decade or so, and then another that does it, then back to the first. The other teams, for the most part, are indeed the Washington Generals.
