I like this trade overall... Can't wait to see him back in a spurs uniform.
Kaman and Diaw buyout pickups... We can hope.

Except that next year he's a big expiring contract. Even if Jack is a s of himself he goes from being a guy who used to go for 40 to a guy who can score six straight when you really need a run. He doesn't have to be Michael Jordan, he just has to not be Kobe Bryant.![]()

Late on this one, lol, dont' follow him, I guess now I should!!!
Motivation can be a great tool for success!!!
Yea, I saw that. On the other hand the Lakers lost a team leader and got 2 new players that have to be part of Kobe's world.
When is the soonest Jackson can play?
Im going to Saturday's game, and my chode will collapse in on itself if he's available
Yes please.![]()
Tbh, 2003 Jack isn't a high bar to live up to. He wasn't nearly as good as our memory makes him out to be. We remember those shots against the Nets but he had some really bad games in that playoff run. According to PER and everything else, he graded out as a below replacement level player that year.
manu should be the backup point imo, have neal return to usual shooter role...
if we can sign a big diaw or kaman, blair goes to the end of the bench
imo Diaw could play the kind of Horry role we've been missing. I think Duncan/Splitter are good at the C and adding Kaman would be a no brainer but getting Diaw would be a very underrated move. Too bad we probably can't get both
Anthony carter waived. Not a pipe dream, but could be usefull
From Twitter.
doubt it. Jax hasn't played since Feb 19 I think
Would be nice to know if his injury is legit or not? You have to believe he's ready to go soon for the Spurs to have picked him up. Hopefully the move wasn't just a financial one.
Judging from his tweet he sounds ready to play.
He was streaky three shooter, and went thru long periods of being a turnover machine. But he developed a good chemistry with Duncan off three pick and roll, which Tiago excels at, played defense and rebounded when the going got tough.
the clutch fourth quarter playoff three's were the overall exception not the rule for the season, but 2007 proved that it can be the rule for his post season play
Sjax may not be the player he once was but if he just can brin gthe effort he did when he was last hear that would add so much to this team.
He is tough as they come, and it be good to have a bit of swager out there after seeing soft player slike Bonner and RJ out there for so long.
I wonder if he still wants that contract extension.
Let's go with
Starters: Tony, Jax, Leonard, Timmy, Splitter
Bench: Manu as the 6th man, Neal = Kerr role.
See where I'm going here.![]()
Greatest thing with this trade is we get rid of RJ, so it's pretty much win win too me.
A motivated "which I think eh will be returning and playing alongside of Duncan again" Sjax would be adeadly one.
I recall that when the Hawks came to SA in November 2003, Pop and Jax had a long embrace and conversation on the floor after the game. My memory is that Pop told the press later that he told Jax, basically, that the door wasn't closed on a return to SA at some point. It struck me then because it fueled some hope that Jax would have come back sooner; but it was also odd because Popovich doesn't usually share those sorts of things with the media and it was extremely complimentary of Stephen Jackson, I thought.
I'm looking for the exact quote.
Enough to make even more excited.
cant wait til Jax goes into the locker room and asks "Who's this ginger ?"
Yes, but I think we like him so much cause he's the R-rated player on a PG-13 team.
