I think it's more McHale taking his shot at Morey than anything. He always has this "I wasn't okay with this" at ude when speaking of personnel moves. McHale is from the school of Hard Knocks and old school, while Morey is from MIT and uses analytics.

I'm fairly certain the Rockets (Morey) let Fisher know right away that he didn't need to report and we would cut ties with him as soon as we negotiated a buy out.
