Meh, Mama Margie's s on TC
What is it about Taco Cabana that is so addicting? I mean....don't get me wrong, it's good stuff and I'll eat it occasionally, but it's only like a rung ahead of Taco Bell on the Tex-Mex Ladder. But I know some people out on the west coast who would kill for some TCs.
Maybe it's one of those things that you only miss when you can't have it, like In-N-Out.

Mama Margie's is virtually the same food with a better atmosphere.
But one should not underrate the value of unlimited chips and hot salsa.
They got 1 tc here in the atl and it's like a crackhouse to me! My wife works 6 min away andif i have to run errands u can best believe my black ass is gettin a jevos ranchero wit extra tortillas and extra bacon!!!!

FWIW my friend said he saw Diaw with Parker last night at Parker's club.
The first time I came to Texas I was in high school and my sister lived in Austin so I begged her to take me to a Spurs game. She did and we hit up Taco Cabana down in SA before the game. I was blown away that you could buy alcohol in a fast food joint. Now that I live in Austin I eat there for lunch quite a bit.

I used to enjoy TC's, and my friend still swears by their bean and cheese after a late night of carousing ... but after having seen their portions dwindle over time, and the growing stinginess with condiments, upon being extremely disappointed and feeling jipped a few years ago I told myself I would never buy from them again.
Living in NYC now, I'd love TC. The tex-mex I've had up here as been ehhh. Some mornings I'd kill to just get a breakfast taco which apparently doesn't exist up here.

For those of you who swear by TC's, just know that it USED to be even better.
They once served Tacos Al Carbon. Those were fantastic. I have no idea why they stopped. Back in High School (Mid 80's for me) TC was awesome.
The fajitas have always been a bit over seasoned for my liking.
Would love to have some TC right now. It's not that the food is that great, it's just having that option available. All the better Mexican fast food places here in LA are too far away from me to justify the drive(El Gallo Giro, King Taco).
