- Difference between ACQUAINTANCES, FRIENDS, GOOD FRIENDS & CLOSE BUDS. An acquaintance is a guy you knew in High School, know on facebook or run into once in a while randomly. Friends are people you run into at the bar, around other friends, you might text each other but you don't speak verbally over the phone. Close friends are guys you see atleast on a bi-weekly basis & contact on the phone regularly. CLOSE BUDS are guys that you plan on associating with for the rest of your life. Guys that were there BEFORE gf's & AFTER gf's. I have countless acquaintances & friends. I have a close circle of 25 friends that many met in K-12 school BUT I only have 3 close buds (Not counting family).

These days with social medias like Facebook....people are in contact with many of their ex's & going a step further in this more open sex generation....people are still having sex with their ex's.
