Nice quotes from 2014 DE/LB Hoza Scott (24/7):
"I'm real excited about it (the UT spring game)," Scott told Hookem.com. "I really like Texas. They offer a great education and it's a nice environment to be in. It seems like a place that I'd really love to be around."
"They're definitely a top school of mine," he explained. "I'd say my top five right now, in no order, are Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama and Florida."
As was reported by 24/7 yesterday, not only are several 2012 commitments going to be in Austin on Saturday, but the staff is pushing to get the 2013 commitments in town as well. They want to give these guys more time together and also get them in a closed spring practice setting without all of the craziness that the spring game weekend has to offer. WR Jake Oliver is the only 2013 guy confirmed so far but a handful of guys are expected in town this weekend and again next weekend. Here's the updated list:
2012
QB, Jalen Overstreet, Tatum
RB, Johnathan Gray, Aledo
WR, Cayleb Jones, Austin High
DT, Paul Boyette, Jr., Humble
DT, Malcom Brown, Brenham
DE, Bryce Cottrell, Plano West
LB, Tim Cole, Brenham
LB, Dalton Santos, Van
ATH, Daje Johnson, Pflugerville Hendrickson
ATH, Kendall Sanders, Athens
--------------------------------------------------
2013
WR, Jake Oliver, Dallas Jesuit
Also per 24/7, both S Colin Janice of West Orange-Stark and CB Maurice Smith of Fort Bend Dulles have been extended invites to the spring game next weekend. No word if either will attend.
More nice quotes from ATH Jacorey Warrick. Reminder that his stepfather went to UT:
"They (UT) told me they wanted me for receiver. That was one of my main concerns because I want to play offense," Warrick said. "When I was there, I asked how I was being recruited, and they told me specifically for offense, to come in and play in the slot, do some wildcat stuff maybe."
"It was a bunch of factors. I went down there for the junior day and got to see what the environment was like. I got to hang out with the coaches and it's a family atmosphere. It's close to home," Warrick said. "After we came back and talked about it, we decided it was the best fit for me."
"I had a great amount of support. Of course, he's (stepfather) biased to Texas," Warrick said with a laugh. "But with any decision I would have made, they were supportive of me through the whole thing and they wanted me to make my own decision. But they were happy. My mom was happy also because it's close to home."
"You can just tell that they're really genuine. What other schools have their wives there at junior days? That really caught my eye," Warrick said. "You can kind of feel the family atmosphere just from being around the coaches. When I went, I got to see one of their spring practices. Even at practice, it seems like a fun environment to be in."
"Coach Wyatt stood out. I got to see the wide receivers and everything they did. He's very hands on. I really like him," Warrick said. "You can tell he really loves what he's doing. He draws you to him, and he's not always about football. He was talking a little about other things when we sat down at lunch. In the football aspect, he gets after it and makes you work hard. I like that."
"He (Warrick's coach) tells them we're done with the recruiting process. They're still calling but he tells them that I'm committed," Warrick said.
"It's a big relief to have my commitment out of the way. Now all I have to do is focus on finishing my school year, then play my senior season. I don't have to worry about going to different camps, talking to other coaches. It's already said and done," Warrick said.
Inside Texas recently intereviewed blue-chip DB Priest Willis of Tempe, AZ:
"I really like Texas but from what's floating around they don't have interest in me. They've been my favorite team since I was little, and I would visit, but they're not interested."

RB Johnny Jefferson of Killeen Shoemaker is now a Baylor Bear.
It's funny hearing his mom talk about the diet they are all on. They are big people and the coach/trainer that's working with them put them all on the same diet to help Dalton out. She said it's making her and the rest of the family a little crazy.
His comment's line up with what I've heard from her. She said the guy who gave the plan(she said a name, can't remember who) told Dalton he wanted him to lose 20lbs and gain back 10lbs of lean muscle to help him become quicker and more flexible. Can't wait to see him on the field.
Nice.

If he is genuine I think Akina should take a look at him. I love his film.
Just a reminder that DE Torrodney Prevot will be in College Station this weekend.

Something worth mentioning on five-star DB Su'a Cravens. A big talking point this week with him is if he has an "official" offer from Texas or not. He's said in the past a couple of times that he'll definitely visit UT if they offer. However, it hasn't been made perfectly clear to him that he has one and he says he needs to know for certain where he stands with any school before he takes a visit.
With that said, some coaches from Cravens' school will be in Austin in a couple of weeks and have the opportunity to sit down with the UT staff. I'm not positive why they're coming into town, but it'll be a good opportunity to get the ball rolling with Cravens and get things cleared up. He's definitely a guy UT will take no matter what the numbers look like. Mack has been in touch with him through Facebook and told him he basically has an offer if he wants it.
Statement released from UT:
Texas sop re CB Quandre Diggs sustained a left wrist injury that required surgery. Diggs had successful surgery Saturday to repair the injury and will be out for the remainder of spring drills, Longhorns Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd said. He is expected to make a full recovery and should be ready in time for the season, Boyd added.

Edit: Also said that "Prevot didn't know if he'll make it to Texas on Sunday"
Pretty disheartening article IMO. Swoopes hasn't touched a football in months? You really need a guy that is obsessed with improving and is out there doing the work every day.
