Beyond contemptible. Katie-girl cooked up the Helper for him, plated it, and brought it to him along with a tall glass of Hawaiian Punch. He rubbed his hands together like a fly, excited at the prospect of a good meal and some Los Angeles Lakers basketball featuring his idol, Kobe Bryant.
He turned on the set, switched to Fox Sports Southwest, the smile growing ever large as tip-off drew near.
The first words her heard was a local Suns commentator saying, "The Lakers will be without..." No, no, no. It can't be.
"Kobe Bryant."
Noooooooooooo.
But it would only get worse. What he saw next widened his eyes in fear, made his palms leak sweat, and sent a chill down his spine seemingly cold enough to freeze blood. It was sight about as terrible as g00k villager being fried alive by napalm. Oh the horror!

Lakers longtime trainer Gary Vitti said just before tipoff he decided to put Bryant's left foot in a protective boot to rest the injury.
"It's very painful," Vitti said. "He's been playing with this and it's not getting any better. Really the only way to stop it is to shut him down. That's why I put him in a boot."
