before them, rasslin was the only way for gay guys to make contact in public.
Yes he was but was far more successsful as a manager....you disagree?
None of those guys were the founders. Rasslin' goes way back long before any of them entered a ring.
before them, rasslin was the only way for gay guys to make contact in public.
That's not true at all.
it might be. how do you know?
Give me the names of those "known" gay rasslers from back in the 60's.
i can't do that. they've asked for anonymity.
tbh, I think The Rock or Stone Cold should be on your list. I'd probably try to get a superstar from every era, imo.
There are a handful of guys who made a huge impact on the rasslin' world to the point of shaping it. Taking it to a level where guys like The Rock and Stonecold could become who they were. We have to give them their props/respect first. Yes The Rock and Stonecold are without question HOFers, they will have to wait however.
And The Rock and Stone Cold carried the business when it was at its pinnacle, that is why they deserve to be on that list, tbh imo fwiw.
So who do they replace and why?
Hey RaZon, what's your favorite band of the last 30 years? I hear that you're knowledgeable about music.
step up your game slick. Get serious OK? Get it? It's simple. Respect the thread.
The White Strips
I like Jack White, he being a big fan of roots music. Actually played with Delta legend Son House who started recording in the 30's.
I also like...
Ray Lamontagne
Steve Earle
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Mark Lemhouse
Johnny "Slim" Campbell
The Black Keys
Harry Manx
Mike Younger
Lucinda Williams
Amos Lee
Ben Harper
Chris Thomas King
Keb Mo
But it is those old prewar blues where my love for music really starts. Something about primitive.
What's your favorite White Stripes album?
Not bad.
Me being you...
I saw your mom last night. just the top of her head.
White Stripes, nice knock off. Why don't you just hop in the car and take a trip to where it all started for some African Blues.
Not sure...hmmm? I have 4 CD's a buddy recorded for me. He didn't break it down by albums. He told me I'd love them, he was right.
I have a bunch of that African stuff.
You can now drive there?
lolwut? Do you even listen to studio albums?
Let me make something clear...
I have in my possesion well over 5,000 records/tapes/CD's. Tons of stuff! I have a few 100 CD's burned by friends as we exchange music. I discovered The White Strips that way. I dug their sound immediately.
Studio Albums...tons!!!!!!!!!! Actually CD's.
Not that I don't have a load of old records.
I was just expecting you to be familiar with your favorite band of the past 30 years' studio albums. I guess that's too much to ask for a music expert.
They are of no historical significence right now. I just enjoy their sound. If I'd had to have bought their stuff I would have. I didn't have to so I didn't. I don't care what album any of it is off of. Right now.
So basically, you're a greatest hits kind of guy. Kinda sad for a music historian.
By the way, please take pics of this massive music collection of yours with a time stamp when you have the time.
Oh no not at all actually just the opposite. I'm more into the obscure. I like to find those hidDen gems. That's what attracts me to those old blues.
Totally wrong on that.
Dude, you really think I'm concerned over proving anything to you? I don't care if you believe me or not. Take a picture...hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok man this is about as obscure as it gets. I own 8-10 books on them old blues. Bo Jones is nowhere to be found. He recorded one record.
The flip side...Leavenworth Blues.
So what makes you a music historian anyway? What are your qualifications?
